Hey Folks...I finally had my band surgery. so far so good. The pain is tolerable...though I'm on Percocet. Worst part for me so far is a sore throat from being intubated. Gas pain isn't bad. I'm moving around quite well and I am keeping fluids down without any issues!

Anyone having issues with larger pills like Metformin? I took one tonight and now I feel extremely bloated. I am hoping to god I didn't get one stuck in there on my first night. And on top of that I am afraid to take my pain meds now.

They gave me Percosets, too. They did nothing for pain. When did you finally have your surgery? I know you got delayed last week.

Hey! That week went by fast! Glad everything went well. Don't worry about the pill. You'd know if it was stuck. If you are still worried drink some hot tea. They dissolve quickly enough though! And for gods sake keep ahead of the pain. Take your Percocet!

It went away eventually. But i am going to talk to my endocrinologist about these horse pills. See if I can't just cut them up.

That's weird, LBT cut off my post.

Metformin can be broken look it up on google. I am only taking 1/6 the meds now and my blood sugar is always around 100 or lower. It's been over two weeks i am back to normal foods. I am so glad i have done this I am around 30 pounds less now.

I was told that the Metformin I am taking is time release (Glumetza) and therefore could not be broken up. However my issue was more that I was swollen than anything else. I've been taking the same meds since day one without any issues.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
