On June 14th I met with the doctor and began the journey of testing and evaluations. This coming Wednesday I will (hopefully) have my meeting to review my sleep study results and receive my final green light of clearance!

I am praying all goes well and that Amerihealth Insurance doesn't deny me after all these months of testing and anticipation.

I think a little puree turkey will do just fine this year for Thanksgiving⦠here's to crossed fingers for a November banding!!

Anyone else in the same boat? :D

It seems like forever since I started my journey. I bet i changed my mind 100 times this year but here it comes November 26th, I start only liquids on the 12th, that has me most nervous! But with all it took to get here you can bet I'll go through with it. But Thanksgiving will be cruel, all I think I'll do is remember beside myself its for my're grand baby so I can play with her not to mention be alive to watch her grow. Please pray for me and wish me luck add I do for you all!

Good luck to you! I also stayed overnight, and had the swallow test, and everything was fine. Actually, glad to stay in hospital, because they made me feel at ease, and any questions i had, were answered. It went much smoother than i thought. I slept amazing in my own bed last night, thanks to pain meds. Cant wait to see your update!

Home from surgery a few hours ago. I checked in at 8 am, surgery at 10 am home at 330pm.

After the procedure... Woke up with bad chest pain from the gas... A sore throat and my port site hurt like hell

Pain meds helped the chest pain... Then it was referred to shoulder... The pain is manageable now. Prescription for liquid hydrocodone\tylenol. Only have taken once since hospital.

Port side has just a few drops of red drainage - normal... Still very sore

Sore throat is slowly going away.

No issues with drinking fluids today.

Steady on my feet... But mostly taking it easy.

I am a side sleeper, so I hope I get some rest tonight sleeping on my back.

Hope everyone else who was banded is doing ok

Congrads to you it gets better each day ---day 6 post op for me doing well, going out , discomfort almost gone still have to be careful in some of my movements, liquids are going down better

I have started doing my liquid diet today... to get a head start... date is for the 29th of Nov. It sucks! Soup this morning, soup for lunch... got this Protein poweder.. Muscle Milk... yeah it sucks. The wife is being a Nazi... good for me though cause Im hungry... and she is a fighter. Trying to think how a 3000+ calorie diet to only 500 today with my normal bike rides and swimming laps is a good thing? LOL. This cant be healthy. :D

Can anyone suggest a good shake that actually taste like what the label says? I would like an invite to the FB page. Stowe63@gmailcom

(I think the wife is cooking bacon... really... at 5pm....)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
