I'm Anna :) I was banded back in nov. 2010 . I'm loving this support group. Im about to go for a barium x-ray to see what state my tummy is in and I'm super nervous. I have become careless. I started binge eating late at night again. I'm sure I have stretched my pouch.. But a few nights I've woken very late with terrible pain in my esophagus. Hurts to breathe. It resolves by mid morning. I'm back on liquids, I haven't had any unfills yet, but I'm thinking that's probably next step. I'm freaked out. Can anyone help calm my nerves? I've been at goal for about 9 months now (140 total loss) I'm scared! I don't want to lose my band or have to go through surgery... I don't have any money to pay on my own and I'm not sure my ins. Will cover any procedure...

I don't have answers but I can offer support. Take a deep breath. Recognizing your mistakes (binge eating) is honestly the first step in the process of fixing them. I myself have been a bad bandster the past few weeks; not necessarily eating too much just eating small amounts of the wrong things. The one thing I've learned is that losing weight won't fix problems, it just gives you a smaller body to use in dealing with those probelms. If I were in your shoes, I would meet back with my surgeon and also maybe check into seeing a counselor or therapist. Try to get to the root of your binge eating.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Just don't let them take any out or you will gain back all of or some of the weight, and you will be uncomfotable with the weight on you, so please try to stay as you are.

I don't know if that's entirely accurate...again, talk with your doctor. I would think that staying as you are may be hazardous to your health in the long run (the over-eating, esophageal pain, etc).

Yes I'm pretty sure I'm going to need an unfill.. That's just fine as I just recently had a fill 2 days ago. I honestly think I just need to reign it in.. Recommit and refocus. I feel like I became lazy once I reached goal. This is reminding me why I did this in the first place. I made major lifestyle changes for the better... It's a step backward to watch tv late at night with a half a bag of cheetos. :(. I'm terribly embarrassed and ashamed...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
