1St Fill Tomorrow, So I'm Wondering...

I was not told I need to do anything differently the day of my 1st fill, but I thought I would check. Is there any kind of preparation? Eating less, not eating before, etc?

My doctor says no food or water 2 hours before. Then 24 hours liquid, 24 hours mushie after the fill. But every doctor is different, so check with your doctor. Good luck.

Thanks! Yeah, they told me the liquids for 24 hours then mushies, but nothing about the day of the fill so I wasn't sure. I'll stop drinking an hour before I leave work.....it's another hour to my doctor's office....so that will give me 2 hours. Thanks again!

Another example of the differences surgeons will give their patients...I have to abstain from all eating and drinking for 3 hours before a fill. Following the fill I need to be on liquids for the rest of the day and also for the day after...then 24 hours of mushies.

I am allowed to eat and drink normally before a fill

I think what I'll do is call his office as soon as they open. My appointment isn't until 3 pm, so if he wants me to not eat/drink, I will have time to adjust accordingly.

My surgeon did my first fill on Sept 18 of 1.5cc and didn't say anything about eating a certain way. I did liquids the day of just to be safe and now I'm on soups for today.
