Ok so I'm a week and a day post op and I'm guessing my swelling has gone down because today I'm hungry ... Just trying to drink more Water and not eat more im still on liquids so hopefully the hunger won't stay too long .. Post op dr appt tomorrow.

I've had to force myself to eat Jello cups a lot this week. It's not taking much to fill me up, but it's not holding me over til my next meal. I had to get up at midnight and eat jello because of hunger pains. I tried to ignore them but they start hurting BAD!

LOL I just moved into my house too. I was starting to get on everybodies nerves at work talking about what pinterest project was going to be my first hehe

I have a tall, narrow chest of drawers that was my Nanas when she was younger. It was one of the items I got from her when she passed. I've been wanting to fix it up and change the color, but thought it was something she wouldn't like. Lol. I'm crazy like that. But my mom told me that she was actually going to sand it and change it a few years before she passed, so I'm finally going to do it! It's in extremely good condition, no nicks or anything, just the color is horrible! Then... Oh man... THEN I'm going to garage sale/good will like a mad woman and buy all the sad little fixer upper stuff. Lol. My boyfriend is gunna hate me for all of this.

It's going to be! Especially since I now have an electric sander! Sanding is my least favorite part of the job! I'm also going to make my "other two kids" (my dogs. Lol.) a dog bed that actually matches my house rather than a flannel/fur pallet that looks out of place! Once I get started on all my projects, I'll post the before and after in my blog on here and let you all know about them!

Ok I need help. Banded 11days ago with no restriction. I am starving. I am still sticking to the cup, but man is it tough. Should I do Protein Shakes (preop) leftovers if I get Hungary?

Woohoo! I know about hunger. Jello seems to help me. I don't go to fats or carbs because I don't want to be addicted to foods that brought me to where I am today. I'm strictly Protein and veggies.

It gets better though.

I don't do sugar or carbs either. I am wondering if instead of 3 meals I do six smaller meals with a little Protein with each one? Any suggestions?

You can do whatever you like. Say within your calories and get your daily totals in of protein and Water. You are in a learning process with your body now. It's not fun being hungry all the time.

By the way, I was really scared to move from mushy to soft foods but got the encouragement I needed. Haven't been hungry since. ( banded 10/5)

I have a few pallet projects too! I love the turquoise people are using now! Boyfriend hates headboards so I've decided that I'll do an on the wall faux headboard type thing, but it's not attached so HA! LOL. Move closer and go junk shopping with me! Lol. My mom is already collecting jars for me for other random things! Haha. I'm also waiting for someone to remodel their home and trash their shutters so I can make something with those too! Haha

I was just thinking about a personal experience with Maltitol and figured I'd warn all of you, because apparently it's common. A lot of sugar free candies, ice cream and stuff have Maltitol in them and this stuff, if you eat too much, will give you the worst gas pains that you could ever imagine. I almost went to the hospital because my episode was so bad years ago, then someone told me to see if the Gummy bears that I just ate had Maltitol in them and sure enough, they did. Take my word, please! Lol. Don't splurge just because it's sugar free! I'd rather gain a pound than go through that all night again!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
