I have been getting that pain on my left side after I eat or drink also' date=' haven't figured out why yet but typically takes an hour or more to go away. If I'm up walking around I don't notice it until I sit down then I don't want to sit, lol. Today was the first day I had mashed potatoes and wow they are an energy booster.[/quote']

I was banded on May 2nd.

I believe it is from overrating and drinking too fast. I get the pain in my lower left side about belly button height. But I only get it when I've eaten more than I should.

I would suggest eating slower and measure your portions first. This will eliminate the possibility if over eating.

I wouldn't worry to much about that.. but what are you eating and how much? also.. exercise will help with that greatly!

Ok all.. I think I am doing pretty well, pain wise etc.. but It is very hard for me to get Water down, i get bloated so fast and today I should start my shakes back up and I dont know how I am going to be able to do that and drink water. I have some pretty bad pain in my chest area when I breathe occasionally. Today started to let some gas out.. yay!! but that pain in my chest area is pretty bothersome.. any of you get this? think i will buy some gasx today.

I had all the same problems. Just drink as much as you can, walk, and use your breathing thing that they should of given you, if not then take like 10 deep breaths and hold them for a few seconds every hour. It'll help the chest pain to go away.

Thanks Fallon! I didn't get a breathing thing.. but the deep breaths I'll do that! didn't you get a hiatal hernia repair also? Didn't even know I had one but it makes sense because i'd have heartburn all the time and chest pains and was like ...geez what the hell is this!

No worries, deep breaths do the same thing. It's uncomfortable to do, but I promise it'll help. The "breathing thing" (I don't know the name... Someone help me out here! Lol) just measures how much air you're taking in, it's just a little plastic device. And no, no hernia for me! Hopefully you'll be skinny AND heartburn free, huh?!

Maybe, but are you sure that it's the medicine that made you constipated? I know it's very normal to not go near as much on the post op diet. I didn't go til almost a week after either and I've only gone like 3 times since surgery on the 12th. Lol, TMI, but whatever! If you're having pain, take something! You'll heal much faster! =)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
