Journey girl, yes, u need to add Fiber to your diet now. U do not ever want to go thru the whole constipated thing. I take 2 stool softeners a day and add unflavored fiber to my Water (Walmart brand works fine).

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you don't have a heating pad, you can use a sock full of rice. Just zap it in the microwave for a minute or two. I forgot that I didn't have one and was totally not interested in going to the store so I did the rice thing. My Nana taught that to me years and years ago.

Also, I just added a new entry in my blog about my surgery. You have to be my friend to view it, but if you add me just click on blog. I put up a picture of my band (the actual band, inside of me. Lol.) if anyone wants to see. Dr. Reilly gave it to me for a souvenir. Haha. Pretty cool!

The burp ah the burp...that would never come. Someone posted to bend in half and at times this really works wonders...like a limp doll trying to touch your feet ( without forcing of course) it just comes on up.

As for fiber. I'm afraid it will make things worse so I haven't taken anything. As for the BM I had no shame in going and buying glycerin suppositories after the third day. Beats having a blockage for sure. Anyway' date=' that whole department has changed for good I fear.

Good luck to you and I hope it all works out in the end ( pun intended)[/quote']

I was banded monday and had so much pain in my stomach and chest and a lump in my throat today and yesterday. We went out today abd walked a lot but still nothing. My partner thought it was gas so she kinda slapped my back and I bent in half and then laid on my side on the couch. I finally burped. I feel like a new woman. Also reading this thread I feel guilty lol. I had a 3 oz Protein Shake for Breakfast and cottage cheese and about an ounce of chicken for lunch. I think I'm supposed to be still on liquids but my band is handling small amounts of mushy and soft food.< /p>

Hello Folks' date='

I'm wondering if this is normal or not...please let me know what you all think. I'm not really feeling the gas any more and that's good. Had the surgery on the 9th. However, it's a lot easier to swallow liquids than I thought. I'm not trying to over do it by any means, but it's just so much easier than I thought. There have been a couple of times that I have felt a little pressure and it was not comfortable, but nothing really terrible like I was told I may experience if I over did it. Now I'm not sure what over doing it is! I'm on all liquids. I'm trying to be obedient on everything, but I'm not sure how much is too much. Especially considering they want me to try and get in at least 64 ounces of liquids a day.

I have lost 22 pounds since I started this whole process and I just don't want to go backwards.

I go on Mushys next Friday.

Suggestions? Thoughts? Anything?

Thanks![/quote']

My partner was banded on the first and she's done amazingly well. She feels full after a few bites but I'd swear the band isn't there. She has no problem with liquids and has been tolerating soft Protein. I think some people must just have less swelling or somethig. I think you'll definitely feel it more when you get your first fill.

I think I know what you are talking about. If I forget and gulp nothing really happens. It doesn't take me two hours to finish a shake. and sometimes not even 10 minutes. I do feel a little gassy though. I think it will be big deal one the fills start. I think it will become painful at that point. So I'm glad I get a little forgiveness while I'm learning.

I think I know what you mean. It doesn't take me two hours to drink a shake and sometimes not even 10 minutes. If I gulp instead of sip nothing seems to happen.

I do get a little gassy though. I don't do it on purpose sometimes I just forget. I think once the fills start it will become more of an issue and maybe even painful to do. I'm glad it's a little forgiving now while I'm learning.

All I have to say is props to those of you saying that ya'll didn't need pain meds. I feel like a whiney baby. Lol. I usually handle pain pretty well. Who knows, it might be my period added in the mix. Idk.

Fallon,

I'm in pain too. Was better in the hospital with the morphine drip. Kinda sore at home with the Tylenol with codene. Trying not to take it all the time because it makes me sleep but definitely more pain than I expected. Worth it but pretty uncomfortable right now. Better each day! Feel better soon!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
