. . . my tumbly! :) 2 days post op. Just giving an update! Haven't experienced the intense pain that a lot of people mentioned. Mostly bloated tummy and incision pain. Haven't had a lot of trouble drinking Water but can't mentally stomach anything else! I tried to eat Jello last night and broth today. Ich! Can't do it. May get better in a few days. :) Otherwise not so bad. Just resting a lot and trying to heal. :) Good luck to everyone and best wishes to all the new banders out there. :)

I have that rumbling feeling a lot also, and I was banded on the 11th as well. Are you drinking other things now? I'm living on lots of Protein Shakes and crystal light - 2 ounces at a time. :) Jello isn't in my allowed list of things to do... and turns out most broth is pretty icky, But, if you can get pho broth from a Vietnamese restaurant, it's delicious! :)

I'm post op day 2 and have been good with sf Jello and sf Popsicles. For broth I've been draining chicken noodle Soup and drinking the broth off that and it's actually good.

I just started transitioning from mushies. I tried shaved (as thin as they could slice it) smoked turkey from the deli. Then, I cut it into small pieces. No problem. Then, I tried ham the same way. I got sick almost immediately. So, I'm sticking to the nice, moist turkey. tuna goes down easily for me, too.

I'm eating creamy mashed potatoes made with chicken

broth watered down no lumps. It's so good. No milk or butter but added garlic powder. Also can cream of chicken Soup watered again with chicken broth. I bought at Walmart in baby section a package of hard plastic baby spoons. 10 for two bucks n put them in dishwasher fine. Also am snacking on sf Jello pudding, choc n vanilla. Hope that helps.

Live today like there is no tomorrow!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
