I Had A Liver Transplant Do I Still Qualify For The Lap Band?

Had a live transplant September 2007, and ive gained 80 pounds ever since. Do i still qualify for the lap band? Since i recieve disability i have Medicare and im 23 years old. Will medicare cover my lap band surgery?

I am a medicare patient and I am having my surgery on monday. So yes they will pay for it if you meet all the requirements.

I have Medicare and was able to have my surgery right away. I went to the seminar in December and was banded in January, so it only took a month. I didn't have to do any diets ahead of time.

However, check with your doctor about your liver. He'll know for sure if it's safe or not.

Well i was banded in October 2013, regardless my post Liver transplant. I weighed 273 pounds on the day of my surgery and now im 212. Im seeing major results. So hopefully ill be under 200 be the end of this year
