I had a big liver on my surgery date. I wasn't required to lose pre op but followed the liquid diet for three days before surgery, so I only lost a few pounds. My band was still placed. In hindsight I wish I had tried harder to shrink it, when he told me about my liver in recovery I was embarrassed. But like I said, they can still place them. Good luck everyone!

Banderama' date=' I would absolutely die if I could only drink Protein shakes. I'm on 2 diets a day and then 1 meal at dinner. dinner is 3 oz of lean meat, 1 cup of green veggies and 1 cup of fruit.[/quote']

My surgeon doesn't require an all liquid diet either just a 1200 calorie/day diet for 2 weeks before surgery. So like you, I'm super worried about my liver not being small enough. I've even thought about starting my preop diet early just to be safe. Sounds like you're on the right track. Good luck!

Well I have decided I am just going to try and ignore worryiing. I am sticking to the diet. I have actually found the liquid diet to be working really well. I would never have said that a week ago, but it does get easier.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
