Hi :)

Hi Im new here. I've been doing research and I think I have decided to be banded. I am considering a doctor out of town and don't know of any support groups in town. I hope to find support and information here. Thanks!

Hi Sunflower!

Have you looked under "peers", then your home state? I'm sure someone on that board can recommend a dr. and/or support group for you!

From the message you sent to me ... I just want to be sure you understand that a lap-band is different from a lap RNY.If you go to coricenters.com they have a great procedures place to explain the difference. Unfortunately, CORI is in Michigan but it is still a great website for referencing! Best of luck to you! Debra

Hi and welcome! I hope you feel free to post whatever questions occur to you, because there are plenty of people here at all stages of the banding process who will be happy to answer.

Good luck with your research and decision! :D

Debra,

Yes, I understand the difference. I have been doing research for a while now. I don't want the RNY. What I was saying in my posts yesterday was that the doctor who I am considering right now does both the Lap-band and the RNY. Most of the patients in his practice have had the RNY gastric bypass and that I wanted to hear from some of his patients who have been banded. Thanks for the info, and I will check that organization out as well. I will also check out the peers section. Thanks to both of you for responding

Sabrina
