MummyMeg...I'm the opposite. I can fart...but no burps! :(

Trust me I would take the farts over the burps any day I am hoping that with time and healing burping doesn't hurt this bad normally but it feels like indigestion every time burns my whole chest area

Hi everyone I haven't been on for a while but I will pass on what I was told. I was on clear liquids for 7 days post op. I was ravenous by day 6 the Dr.s office told me that was a good sign as I was healing and the swelling had gone down so the clear liquids where passing threw quickly. I also had another problem. By day 5 I started getting diarrhea so I had to go to the bathroom all the time because I couldn't tell if it was gas or a blowout. I had a few blowouts. Once I started on the full fluids I needed to use more gas x strips. After 2 days the diarrhea stopped. I no longer felt like I need depends. Again by the end of the week I was hungry again. I'm on purée foods now and I find I sometimes still have gas in the evening. I truly think its my body getting used to ground meat, chicken, eggs & veggies. I can tell you it's worth the journey and it does get easier. Next week whole foods best of luck everyone and keep those farts coming.

Yeah ... I have been living in fear of blow outs since day 2!

I am having my first Protein Shake now. It's been 40 minutes already.

What I did was 6oz milk 2oz Water four large ice cubes 1tbsp of Peanut Butter and 1 scoop of vanilla Pure Protein. I blended it up and made 7 1oz shots to work throughout the day & am sipping what's left. I felt like I was making bottles again, but since it is day 1... I am going to go easy. I gotta kill the diarrhea before it kills me!!

Does anyone else have dizziness? I got so dizzy in the shower I couldn't even finish my shower. But im thinking its bc I got in a hot shower after taking my pain meds. Or maybe my sugar was low?

I too got dizzy for the first three days. Mine was sept 12 th. I think it was because of the pain meds n we aren't eating. Drink a muscle milk before you take your pain meds. That cured me.

Lol glad my using the word fart didn't offend anyone. Today I moved onto sugar free pudding' date=' and yougurt plus all the fluids. I am still trying to sense out feelings of fullness. I also got my medicine down today I cut it into 4s and took it with 4 sips of Water it seems to have worked couldn't do the crushed up medicine it made me get sick and then feel sick the whole day. Hope everyone is feeling well![/quote']

Try boiling peeled potato, then put it in blender with chicken broth and bend until smooth, runny little, I added garlic n salt...garlic helped me "fart" and get rid of some of that pain....

Rhonda like I said above, the doc cleared me on those mashed/ blended on day four n I felt like I actually ate something. Also, other than Protein Drink, whatever liquid you do, use a baby spoon. Makes your he'd think you are eating. Walmart has the effect spoons, dozen for 2.78, multi colored dishwasher safe. I'm day 18 and I still use and will continue to use baby spoon with everything. It was my nutritionist's suggestion. Good luck

My surgery was Wednesday as well. I didn't even fill my pain meds script. Just one dose of Tylenol Jr since I have been home.

I have very little discomfort today. Indeed I forgot and climbed in bed with the bf & laid on my stomach!

I could SO go back to wprk tomorrow & be fine with my desk job. There's too much red-tape to cut to come back early.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
