Is your surgery very recent? Possibly gas pains.

After three weeks I wouldn't expect you to still be having gas pains but everyone is different. How often does it occur? Does it happen random times or when you eat something? May want to run it past your Doctor.

Walking really does help a lot with the gas pain in the shoulder.

I am having the exact pain 6 days post op...I also had a hernia repair as well. I hear that the surgery alone aggravates a specific nerve that is connected to the shoulder. I would imagine that it cld continue for awhile...but I hope not!

I would check w your Dr because that nerve cld still be the issue.

Good Luck!

liquid tylenol helps most people and WALKING definitely is the best thing for gas pains. Gas-x has worked for some and not for others. That pain can be so intolerable. I had it with the lap band and luckily it only lasted a few days and it was at least tolerable with meds and walking. When i had my gallbladder removed though.......it was so bad I had to go back to the hospital and be admitted for 2 days for pain control (and a few other complications). Call your doc though, because 3 weeks out seems a little far out to still be having gas pains. Unless it's intermittent with what you're eating.

I used to have a pain in my shoulder when I was eating too much. My doctor explained mine as somehow a nerve was being stimulated by my diaphragm. (I can't remember the details.) After I quit having too much food at a meal, it stopped and has never returned. Maybe yours is related to lingering swelling in that area? Not sure - just trying to be helpful.

@carolinagirl I had lapband with plication too... how soon did you DR give you a fill? I thought they would wait for my wieght loss to slow down( we are expected to lose a lot in the begiining due to the smaller stomach) and then start the fills I am only 5 Dy post op and I am waiting to weigh myself on the 30th at my DR appt but I was wondering how long your DR waited to begin your fills. thanks

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
