  2. I'm having the same problem. I am almost 2 weeks out. My surgeon said that the gas pain can stick around for awhile. But it is killllllling me.
  3. omgosh that is horrible! I am day 12 as well and I have been having THE WORST pain in my shoulder ever! I keep trying to walk, and it just kills me.

  6. I'm still really sore, but a lot better then I've been all week. I'm actually starting to get shooting pains in my lower abdomen, which I know are gas pains.
  7. It's been a week already?! Holy cow. Lots and lots of down time, and quite a bit of pain, but I'm finally feeling a lot better (and TMI, but A LOT better after my first BM last night lol). I have my first post-op appointment tomorrow, but I did weigh-in today..... I lost 7.2 lbs! In one week! SEVEN POINT TWO! craziness. That brings me to a total of 14 lbs, and only 56 more to go lol. I am not expecting a huge loss next week, but I am aiming for 1-2 lbs. Did anyone get to start mushies on week 2? I don't feel like I have any swelling around my band, and I am able to get all my Protein and Water in every day, so I am just hoping I can start on some semi-real food... and maybe start getting some Fiber back in to my diet ASAP lol. woo hoo! If any of y'all have a youtube account and would like to follow my journey on there, or have me follow you, please subscribe! My username is jessicakesbanded and I make update videos at least every week.
  8. I have been taking the gummy vitamins for awhile now and I like them, I got them at walgreens. BUT, I have been banded now for 1 week, and i've tried them a few times this week and they weren't going down very smooth. I have been using flinstones per my surgeon's instructions (nostalgic huh?!) for this week, and until I run out of them, then I'll probably go back to the gummies. I guess for right after surgery, some people prefer the chewables (the chalky kind) rather then the gummies just because they can desolve more before swallowing
  9. Thanks everyone! I'm doing really well, just very very tired and a little sore. I step on the scale tomorrow for my week 1 weigh-in! I can't wait to see how I do!
  10. I was banded on August 9 and I am just starting to get hungry for real food. I have no problem getting all of my Water and all of my Protein in. I have a feeling I'll be starting on mushies next week after I see the doctor for my post-op on friday. I've been living off of the
  11. Mine was on August 9th! Still recovering, but so happy about my decision!
  12. Hey everyone! I am looking for a few accountability partners. I was just banded on August 9, and I have just under 70 lbs to lose. I want to keep on track until I reach my goal! It would be really great if I could meet someone in the San Francisco area as well.
  13. My 24th birthday was August 2, I was banded on August 9. I paid out of pocket for my surgery. So it was one big, very expensive, life changing birthday present. I want to make all of my birthdays in the future even happier and healthier then ever before.
  14. I just got banded on August 9, 2012 and I couldn't be happier. I have been dealing with my weight my whole entire life, and I am only 24. I have 60-70 lbs to lose. I hold my weight pretty proportionally too. When making the decision to get the lapband, I got a whole lot of "you are too skinny to get the lapband", or "you should just be happy with yourself the way you are", or "you should just diet/exercise, surgery is too drastic", yet, when someone who is 300 lbs says that they are going to get WLS, people are always so supportive of them. It's like telling that 300 lbs person that they can have the lapband, but only until they get to 190 lbs... And then they are going to have to take it out because they wont need it for the last 60 lbs they need to lose. Ya know? I don't really worry about it anymore, because I've made my decision and I am happy with it, but it still irks me.
  15. Hey y'all! I'm Jessica. Guess I am a part of the class of August 2012 now! I was banded a few days ago, and still recovering. The day of my surgery was probably the most painful day of my life (just being honest here), but every day I get better and better. I honestly believe that this was the best decision I ever made. I have my own YouTube channel where I am tracking my whole journey. You should subscribe if you are interested! My username on there is the same, Jessicakesbanded
