I had pizza for the first time and I must say I wasn't with it at all but I gave it a try and it didn't give me any problems!! If your going to eat it make sure you eat it very slow and try a thin pizza something that's not heavy b/c when it's heavy it won't go down atleast that's wat I think

So' date=' I'm only day 5 post op, but pizza is my favorite food ever! And I realize it is not good for you and I by no means plan to eat it very often once I'm allowed to start eating solid foods, but has anyone had any trouble eating pizza with their band? I've heard that breads and pastas can be hard for people with bands to eat, so I'm wondering if this includes pizza? I hope not, lol.[/quote']

I can't eat it at all. I had 5mls of Fluid in my band straight off though and now have 6mls and I've tried to eat it a couple times and it always gets stuck... Thick and thin crust. Sucks I know, I love pizza and the smell kills me :(

Well, everyone is different! My 1st ever case of getting stuck was pizza! It caused me to start sliming and then it wanted to come up. If you can make yourself take tiny bites, stop at 1 small slice, and have crispy crust, you might be bale to eat it after you heal. Right now, you are just in the dreaming about food stage. I watched every commercial on TV and drooled after my surgery. But remember, eating it, may have contributed to your weight problem. Best wishes, Karen

Sometimes if its thin and I can not have any toppings on it besides cheese and sauce. I also don't eat the crust.

Sometimes i can eat 1 piece most times 1/2.

I usually stay away from bread as a rule tho cause it's not my friend anymore.

Every "body" is different.

I am at good restriction so no pizza for me be because it will get stuck. Earlier before good restriction I probally could had some. But I am gonna tell you at my surgeon would tell me why are you having surgery if you aren't changing your ways. I have gave up lots of my and have found alternate likes or differerent variations. In doing this I have lost 75 lbs and still going. Good luck to you.

I can eat pizza if I get the thin crust from Dominos. It's so thin and crisp that it's almost like a cracker. If I eat the deep dish or regular crust. I get sick.

It's funny you said that about the cheese. I have thought that it was the cheese that made me sick. But I can eat regular cheese so I thought it was crazy that pizza cheese would do that.

It could also be the grease. I thought since I can't eat the crust, I would just eat the toppings, but that made me sick too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
