So, I'm only day 5 post op, but pizza is my favorite food ever! And I realize it is not good for you and I by no means plan to eat it very often once I'm allowed to start eating solid foods, but has anyone had any trouble eating pizza with their band? I've heard that breads and pastas can be hard for people with bands to eat, so I'm wondering if this includes pizza? I hope not, lol.

This post got me to re-read your topic. I thought your surgeon was allowing you to eat pizza post-op. I was going to say LuckyGirl. Actually I haven't thought what I can eat in the future so I dont really know, I think I saw some that say they do but I think I also read on the internet, no pizza because of the dough.

I eat crisp crust pizza with no problem. bread that is doughy almost always causes a problem unless you bite off extremely tiny pieces and chew, chew, chew. Same with Pasta. Hope that helps.

Oops, I probably could've been more clear ;) yeah that's what I'm seeing. I guess it just depends on the person :/

I order pizza about once a month for my kids and I've never had a problem eating it. I usually have one piece of pizza and a small breadstick.

But again' date=' it's only once a month if even that often[/quote']

Oh okay cool! I hope it works for me, but yeah its not like I can have it all the time. ;)

I know a coworker with the band and she has issues with the crust. She can eat the topping, and maybe 2 bites of the crust. I prefer a softer crust so I'm planning on it being a issue.

Ahh its torture, isn't it? My family had pizza tonight...it's no fun. Me too! I will have to make it happen once and a while. I can't imagine never eating pizza or pasta again. :( how's your recovery going?

No one loves pizza more than me. I am at restriction and eat pizza maybe once a year. More about the calories than not being able to eat it. I try to have a small low cal salad first and then one piece of pizza. I also try to have chicken breast as a topping to get some Protein in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
