  • I saw my dietician and weight loss center nurse today. One week until surgery and I'm starting to get nervous. I'm super excited though. I've lost 30 pounds since May and can't wait to lose more!!!! G

had my 2 week post-op today

I was nervous because I've only been able to get in avg 40gm of protein today. and avg 4-5 8 oz cups of water.

My weight loss has only been about 10lbs.

I was completely shocked. I was told they did not expect any weight loss the 1st 6 wks because its a time of healing Based on their scale it was 15lbs.

My diet numbers were above average so I graduate to mushies.

Oddly my doctor has a much more strict diet than I've read on here.

I was only on clears for 1 day.

Pureeds for 2 weeks: no veggies, no fruits, no grains.

Mushies: add cooked veggies and cooked/diced fruit no grains except cream of wheat/rice x1 a week. No starchy veggies(potatos, peas, corn)

6 wks: can finally introduce all foods and get back to "normal" foods

Hope all went well for today's bandsters! Prayers for those of you going in tomorrow and the rest of the week. Please post to let us know how all is going.

All done.....off to the losers bench for me

I hope your recovery is relatively painless :) Keep us posted.

Getting ready for bed. 5:30 report time in the morning.

Music teacher, I'll be thinking about you and the others being banded tomorrow. It is soooo worth it!

Our August month is almost up :( but excited to see all of us starting our new lives!! Good Luck on everybody going in on the 30th and 31st...

It's 6:14 here. Starting the waiting game. My surgery is scheduled for 7:30. I love the warm air they pump into the gown. So relaxing. Well, waking at 3:30 helps too. LOL

Good luck xxx

Surgery went well yesterday. I had a hienal hernia repar wich I Hess is common. I am real tender in the belly and the shoulder/chest pain is brutal to say the least but is a bit better this morning. I got up and walked and took my meds every 4 hours last night. I'm having a hard time sitting up in a chair so I'm propped up in bed mostly. Drinking plenty of water and trying to get in my protein drinks today. I'm glad to be on the other side for sure! Thanks everybody for your support. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions down the road.
