  1. I had no fill at the time of surgery, 6 weeks later I got my first fill of 4cc. Since I've had 4 more fills of 1cc each. I am currently at 8cc in a 11cc Realize band and finally feeling restriction and I love it. I generally don't feel anything different after a fill until a week or so later.
  2. When I was post op I ate the hot and sour soup daily I just added my own low sodium beef broth. It saved me when I was sooo sick of everything else.
  3. I was just curious about working in high temperatures? I am starting a new job working in pot rooms at Alcoa metals (they manufacture aluminum) and the temps can reach as high as 130 degrees for long periods of time. I have not reached my green zone yet but feel I'm close with 7cc's in my 11cc realize band. I have a fill on Monday and I'm wondering if I should put it off? Any info would be appreciated.
  4. At my last fill my dr thought I might have a leak because he could only get 2 of the 5 cc's out but since I have had another fill of 5.5 cc's and no problems and I actually have some restriction now. When I asked him where the fluid went he said sometimes when I pull the fluid out and inject it back in it feels like he is going through the port membrane and in reality he is just feeling the needle going through scar tissue. He said the only way to be 100% sure is to do the fill with fluro.
  5. I went to my dr. apointment today to get my 3rd fill, when the dr. removed the fluid in my band he said he could only get 2cc's out and that I shoiuld have 5cc's in my band. I freaked out completely and asked him if I have a leak? He said not to jump to conclusions to come back in 2 weeks and I will do your next fill with fluro and we will see what you have in there then and go from there. He said you may come back then and we might get more than that out. So I guess my question is has anybody else expeiranced this? I am a wreck thinking I'm going to have to go through revision surgery again.
  6. I am scheduled for my first fill Monday afternoon and I'm wondering if I'm suppose to eat my normal breakfast and lunch before or liquids?
  7. I am currently 5 weeks post op and I am scheduled for my first fill on Monday afternoon. The doctors office didn't give me any instructions, so I assume I can eat my normal breakfast and lunch before the fill Then liquids after. Was just curious if anybody has other instructions?
  8. I'm 2 weeks post-op today and I started walking on my treadmill and after my belly muscle under my port gets very uncomfortable.I have a hard time bending over to tie my shoes. Even driving long distance I get a pinching sensation.
  9. Mine were all stitched with dissolvable I inside and glued. I'm out 2 weeks post-op and glue is still there
  10. My husband told me we should renu are vows when I get back into mine. So I've set that as my goal.
  11. My mom has had several surgeries and thought I might just be from the breathing tube they put down are throat. I don't actually see blood just the taste but I will def. call dr in the morning. Thanks everybody for your opinions.
  12. I had my surgery on 8-28 and I am 8 days out. I am feeling great even started walking on my treadmill the last 3 days at a slow pace. But I have one problem I have a taste of blood inmy mouth (it's so gross). I had a sore throat for the first 2 days but I'm sure that's normal. But about day three I started getting the taste of blood mostly in the morning. Did anybody else get this? I hate to bother my dr with a small issue like this.
  13. I just use the required amount of protein powder/ and water and I add 1 teaspoon of decaf instant coffee and a teaspoon of sugar free vanilla syrup (Starbucks or tosani). Hills brothers sugar free cappuccino mix is a good add to.
  14. I did fine on my diet all day but I had just the broth part of hot and sour soup and to my surprise I had about a cup and a half. I wasn't watching what I was eating. I'm worried I stretched my pouch? Does the broth part of hot and sour soup go right through the band or will it stay in the upper pouch? I'm only 1 week post-op. no pain or anything just feel full.
  15. Good luck tomorrow Alex and Joanne. I was banded last tues. (28th) and am starting to get around a bit better today. Still have pain in my chest and shoulder but just taking regular tylenol. Love my hearing pad. The first few nights I was up walking around about every 4 hours to get rid of pain. Think I might actually be able to sleep through the night tonight. But I will say the last few days went buy quickly. Even with everything I've been through I have never once questioned having it done or regretted it. You will be in my prayers tomorrow.
  16. Surgery went well yesterday. I had a hienal hernia repar wich I Hess is common. I am real tender in the belly and the shoulder/chest pain is brutal to say the least but is a bit better this morning. I got up and walked and took my meds every 4 hours last night. I'm having a hard time sitting up in a chair so I'm propped up in bed mostly. Drinking plenty of water and trying to get in my protein drinks today. I'm glad to be on the other side for sure! Thanks everybody for your support. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions down the road.
  17. It seems sereal posting on the post-op thread. I had my surgery at 9am this morning and I am doing ok. I had a hieanal hernia I wasn't aware of that he repaired as well. I had no nausea at all, I have to thank the anesthesiaolgist for the "cocktail" he gave me for that. My belly is real sore and some back and shoulder pain but I have been doing a lot of walking. I have had broth and water only. My dr. Gave me tablet form Vicodin and my husband has been breaking them up in pieces for me to take I'm to scared to try and swallow one whole. Has anybody else taken them whole just curious? Just want to let everybody on here that has supported me along the way thank you and your info gave me the strength to go through with this.
  18. Thanks I'll keep that in mind . Need all the support I can get right now.
  19. Good luck, mine is today as well @ 8:00am. Wish it was over.
  20. Thanks!!! Just wishing it was all over and I was concentrating on the healing part instead. Happy healing to you as well!! Take care of yourself
  21. I am having surgery Aug 28th and I have had mine for 4 years, he said it was fine at my pre-op appt. I never have a period but I'm on my 7th day of my liquid diet and from the drastic change in my diet and loosing 14lbs so quickly I have some light spotting and cramping. I called my gyno and she said that was my hormones changing and after I loose weight my periods might come back regularly. Just some info I thought you might want to know.
  22. I'm on day 4 of my pre-op diet and the one thing that is saving my butt is isopure protein drinks. The the shake type but the flavored water ones. I got mine on amazon, grape frost and blue raspberry. They sort of have a sweet tart taste which is helping me because I'm sick of the thick sweet shakes alread. The best part is they have 40g of protein in each one and I don't feel hungry at all. Well worth the $ for sure. I am going to continue them post-op as well to help me get my protein.
  23. My doc said to wait a week and use a comfortable position. Just saying
