Yesterday my boyfriend & I took my daughter to the zoo. It was her first time. We had a great time but about an hour into the trip I was so tired, my knees hurt, my back hurt, my feet were killing me, and I was so out of breath. I was disgusted with myself. My surgery is September 6th & I can wait !! I have lost some weight during these last few months which I am proud of but yesterday really made me feel bad. I want to be able to keep up with my daughter for future trips.

I know what you mean, that was a big factor to me- getting older but have little kids that need me for the long haul. It's good motivation, keep up the good work!!!!

I'm not "liking" the fact that you aren't feeling too happy with yourself, but I am "liking" your attitude for wanting the surgery - I can't keep up with my husband or my dogs at all, and that's one of my big reasons for getting the surgery. I'm tired of hurting with little to no exertion, and I can't wait to be able to be more active.

Good job on losing weight on your own so far - I'm struggling with that right now, I'm pre op and have 5 lbs to lose before I'm "at or below" my required weight for surgery (Aug 21), and I'm starting to panic and struggling with not loathing myself and loading up on the negative self talk for not having the willpower, being fat and gross etc (all of the wonderful things my mean girl side tells myself... sigh).

Best of luck to you, and before you know it she won't be able to keep up with you!

I struggle DAILY with the mean girl in me. She won't shut the hell up. it's so hard to stay positive sometimes but we can do it ! just keep

pushing everyday. that's what I tell myself "just keep pushing". I am going to Miami next month and I am certainly not happy with the way I look for the beach and it discourages me sometimes but then I think about what the future holds September 6th= a new me and same fore your surgery date ! best of luck to you. you can private message me if you ever need words of encouragement :)

I read this post and couldnt help but sympathise with you. I had a similar experience this past Sunday. My boyfriend and I went to yankee stadium to go see a professional soccer game; I was totally excited but we parked the car about a mile from the stadium and to top it off we had nose bleed seats and we walked up ramp after ramp after ramp to get up there! I was so out of breath and felt so out of shape, it got me so depressed! Believe me it is definitly difficult but we are all in the same boat and we all want to

better ourselves! Keep your head up and I promise ill do the same :)

Hi, Please stop knocking yourself down. OK, you have a problem, but you are not disgusting and you should be proud you are starting to do something about it. I know it's hard when you are at the beginning of the process but look forward to the new you in the future and use your energy and mind on getting to that point. Every step you take and every pound you lose pat yourself on the back because you are succeeding. No, it is not easy and it takes time, but you are doing something very important for yourself and your daughter. She will grow up knowing you have worked very hard to enjoy special moments with her in her life and she will be proud of you as well when she gets older.

Just close your eyes and imagine how you will feel when you are able to keep up with your little one and how proud and happy she and your family will be of you.

You will get there and you will feel so good about yourself and look back and wonder why you felt this way.

I am on the same journey with you I have more than 100lbs. still left to lose to reach my goal, so I am right there with you sister and will pray for you like I do for many others on this site.

Hold your head high, be strong, do your best and have faith in yourself and you "WILL GET THERE!"

Just think what wonderful things are in store for your future. I was just like that, feeling bad about myself and thinking I was going to die anytime we had to go to an amusement park or anything.

But now I am 7mnths post op and have lost 83lbs. I feel soooooo much better! I can do more and not be out of breathe. I feel great!!!!

I still have 28 more pounds to go until I reach my goal.

If you buckle down and really work hard, you CAN do anything! Good luck:)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
