When Did You Feel 100% Better After Surgery?

Recommended Posts

Had Surgery on July 2 and have to say it's been a rough road but I've been back to "normal" for only a few days now... Follow directions and it will be ok. Took me awhile to accept that but its the truth. I even thought this surgery was a "set it and forget it" situation...WRONG. I put even more thought into what I eat, when I eat it & when to start & when to stop... It's another job, deal with it get over it and get used to it... It's not all bad... I'm down close to 30lbs already!

Other than being exhausted, I felt great just 2 days post-op. Still had 6 days off of work - but I didn't stop my life and sit on the couch the whole time. Went to the store, cleaned house, etc. I'd say 100% about 2weeks. But I'd found different ways to move around. Like instead of bending over or even regular squatting to get something off the floor, I would plie - no, not a ballerina, just found it the easiest way to get lower without any discomfort.

I had surgery the 12th. I had my gallbladder taken out and was supposed to have lapband surgery as well. Well' date=' my gallbladder was pretty bad and my surgeon couldn't put in the lap band. My stomach still feels miserable. I have the lapband incisions because my surgeon was planning on putting the lapband in. I am now scheduled for lapband surgery on August 6th and I start school the 20th. Will I have enough time to recuperate? Because right now I'm 10 days out and still feel miserable...

PS- I'm glad some of you are feeling better and I hope the rest of us feel 100% better soon![/quote']

I had my gallbladder out 8 years before my band and maybe time erased some things but to me the band recovery took longer than gb (both laproscopic). I also had a hernia repair with my band, so maybe that's why. I was only off work for 4 days, and wish I would have took a couple more. I would think you'll be ok to do school a couple weeks after surgery, unless you still feel bad going in to surgery. Double check with your Doc and feel better soon!

Thank you! I'm starting to feel better, I'm almost two weeks out now. I do have a sprained foot? Haha I don't think that is from surgery though. I hope I will be better by the time school starts, I cant afford to postpone this surgery much longer. Thank you to all who answered. To those who are still recuperating, I wish you a speedy recovery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
