Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Recommended Posts

I am on my six month supervised diet, after which Iwill be banded.I am hoping to loose about 110 pounds. I am concerned about my skin. Is there anything to do to increase skin elasticity? I am hoping not to need a "lift" by a plastic curgeon when I am done.

Any ideas?

I've heard to drink plenty of Water and don't smoke. Other than that, not sure anything helps. Some will tell you exercise helps. I've been told by plastic surgeons that NO, it doesn't help with skin elasticity. I lost over 100 pounds fairly slowly, and a doc told me I'll still need a lower body lift, despite drinking plenty of water and not smoking. It has a lot to do with genes and age.

I am not a smoker, and I can't decide if my genes will offer elasticity or not...maybe I should have done this at 35 instead of forty...hmmmmm. There should be a magic pill to make your skin shrink when the fat is all gone. I just don't want to look like a bloodhound, or a balloon somebody let the air out of. Maybe I will buy a girdle, to hold everything up.

Maybe I can be a back up girl...droopy doggy.

It seems like if we go through this and loose all the weight, nice firm, tight skin should be thrown in free.:huytsao I guess this is on my mind because I am just now starting to have a few tiny crows feet and other telltale signs of aging.

HAHA! Well girlfriend, that's nothing that a little botox and some Spanx and a pushup bra can't fix. Believe me, hun, it's ALL good. Right now I'm doing spanx to hold in the excess skin, and you wouldn't BELIEVE how many people are like "You have such a nice shape." They just think I dropped 20 pounds overnight. Plus, the spanx double as my chastity belt - LOL. Those suckers are hard to take on and off.

And about the botox... girl, it's affordable now and TOTALLY worth it.

Hi Everyone-

It has been on my mind lately to start a new post as a positive, motivational, and inspiring thread. I have noticed several threads lately where those considering surgery are asking if it is 'possible' to lose 100 pounds with the band. My answer to that is...Yes, it definitely is. Many say it is not realistic. But I have watched the amazing progress of LBT members on the board, and believe it is not only realistic, it is happening to many of our LBT members all around us. And for those that aren't quite there yet, many members are extremely close. As time goes by with lapband increasing in popularity and the number of LBT members growing everyday, I believe the list is only going to increase by leaps and bounds.

Any and all weight loss is a huge accomplishment for us all. While I realize that many members don't need to lose 100 pounds or more, many do. And for those who do, it offers not only motivation to see that other bandsters have done it...but most importantly it offers the hope that it can be done with the band!

This will be a running thread to offer positive motivation, inspiration, hope, and encouragement. Please PM me or post here to have your name added to the growing list when you hit 100 pounds lost, or if you want your amount lost updated. Congratulations to everyone on any and all weight loss!

121 Members of the LBT 100 Pound Club and Growing!!!

(or I should say shrinking )

That is amazing!! But what I'm also curious to know is how long did it take them all to loose that amount? Espeacially the ones who lost 200 lbs. or more.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
