Doubtful that it would show erosion of the band (at last it wouldn't show erosion any more than a regular X-ray.

The barium swallow shows the stomach, and the intestinal track... it wouldn't highlight the band, since it's outside the stomach. The most it would show is if there is the restriction level. Actual levels of erosion of the band would not be as visible.
