New To The Forum

Hi Everybody,

I'm the Laughing Cat and am new to this forum and forums in general. I was banded 6/12/2012 after 3 1/2 months from my first appointment at the surgeons office. I feel I was well prepared but for sure will have questions down the road. Starting at 252, I am now down to 220. I'm struggling to keep on the diet as I feel no restriction. In two weeks I see the doctor and am hoping a fill will help me control my eating. Maybe I'll be a lucky one and reach the green zone the first time!

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum.

32 lbs is nice...but the lapband is only a tool. it will not really control your eating. You will do it.

I will suggest to you what my Dr told me. Measure your food and only eat 1/2 to 1 cup at a meal.

Protein first. Veg Second. NO BREAD NO RICE, NO POTATOES, NO pizza, NO CAKE, CANDY PIES. Cookies. NO CARBoNATED liquids. no white flour foods.

i AM HOPING THAT OIU HAVE BEEN WRITING DOWN WHAT YOU EAT. Perhaps the same type of menu you used for the 32 lbs would be a good one to continue with. Usually a person will have about 4 fills before feeling restriction. So I doubt that you will reach the green zone.

Also your exercising daily will assist in losing weight. Water drinking of 64 oz or more each day will help. We are on a low carb, high protein program. I drink water before I eat. and during the day also. I keep my carbs low. Never eat bread. Bread is very bad for the carbs.

You are a lucky one. You have the Lapband and a "window of opportunity to get healthier and thinner. Think more about your exercise and future and less of food and eating. hugs.
