So scared that I'm going to fail. Sx is Tuesday, 7/10, and just going through the doubt phase. I'll be honest, I did cheat today, I ate 1 oz of lean turkey. For the last 8 days it's been nothing but Protein Shakes and Clear Liquids. And tomorrow I start 48 hrs of clear liquids only. I'm ready for solid food - cream of wheat, Soup, something anything. I've lost 10 lbs, but am afraid of failure.

You will do just fine and having some lean turkey isn't the end of the world. Just think 48 hrs is nothing compared to 8 days. Good luck and keep us posted on how surgery went for you.

If you've made it this far and you've only had 1 oz of turkey, what's to worry about? Once you get the band and find restriction, it gets easier. Much easier. Don't fret the day to day meaningless daliances like eating a slice of turkey or gobbling down a small bag of chips. In the grand scheme they mean nothing and we've all done it. If you think you have to go in to this being a perfect dieter, get that notion out of your mind. It aint gonna happen.

You're human and you will do this. Or, you'll go back to being obese? Your choice? If you follow the plan, you won't be hungry, you won't have as many binging episodes and you will be thinner, healthier and drop dead gorgeous. Now who wouldn't want that?

Everyone has those doubts. When it is all done and over, I knew there was no turning back, and I was determined to make EVERYTHING I went through leading up to surgery was worth it. Good Luck! You will do amazing!

Even veteran banders have days that we arent exactly proud of. Just except it and move on. If you just keep in mind that a slip up is not the end of the world it will be ok. We all had fear and doubt. Emotionally it will be the hardest after SX but each day you learn something new and each pound will strengthen your resolve to make good choices. Dont worry you will do great.

Don't let it get you down. No one is perfect. Everyone of us have made mistakes with our diets or we wouldn't be in this situation. Just do the best you can and you will be fine. The fact that you are worried about it shows you are trying to make a change and be proud of that. Hope everything goes well with your process from here on and keep us updated on your progress.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
