Sopranos

Last night's episode was a little better than last week. At least there was some action going on besides Tony's dream sequence. Paulie is a mess! That guy.... ever since he killed the old lady and stole her money I have lost respect for him. Then for he and Vito to be talking about cutting Carm out of the latest take was just despicible (sp?). No honor among thieves, eh? Vito hitting on poor Fin was pretty funny. If the rest of the guys only knew about him! I'm guessing it wouldn't go over too well.

I was glad that Tony finally woke up... knew it was going to happen eventually.

I guess all in all the episode was just okay for me (to quote Randy Jackson).

LOL! I never had respect for him to begin with. He's like a four year old MONSTER! I loved it when someone called him 'Grandpa Munster' - I just laughed and laughed at that.

Then for he and Vito to be talking about cutting Carm out of the latest take was just despicible (sp?).

I loved it when Sil and Paulie got on the elevator and they were all depressed, looking down at their shoes like they were going to cry! I love it that they showed Carmela seeing their reaction to giving away that much money! Could the acting on this show be any better? OMG

Vito hitting on poor Fin was pretty funny. If the rest of the guys only knew about him! I'm guessing it wouldn't go over too well.

I think Vito's going to get 'outed' this season, otherwise, what would be the point of the back-story? I wonder if somehow Fin is going to end up killing Vito or being killed so no one will find out about Vito. It's obvious that Fin ISN'T into Vito - can't he see that? Or does he just not care? Yikes, what a horrible position for Fin.

I was glad that Tony finally woke up... knew it was going to happen eventually.

I have to agree. I was really getting bored by the parallel Tony stories. Was the monk thing because one of Tony's doctors was asian? I'm usually not 'slow on the uptake' but that didn't make sense to me. I was glad to see TonyB at the 'reunion' because it was solid evidence that the businessman storyline was about to come to an end. And what about Meadow's little-girl voice crying for her daddy, "Don't go Daddy!" That was great. Then the blinding white light, and Tony says "I'm dead, right?" I do wish he'd looked into the house though - I really wanted to see all the people who had been killed off over the years, at a party together, waiting to welcome Tony 'home'.

The episode WAS just OK, but now we can move forward. I feel a little gyped over losing 2 episodes to this weird storyline. I felt that way about the episode "Test Dream" too - the one where Tony is in the back of the vintage car and Ralph is in the front with a caterpillar on his bald head, you remember that one? Weird show. But I'm still loving it.

Talk to you next week! lol

I love the Sopranos, but I'm wondering if they have a new writer. Did we wait 2 yrs for this? I can remember going to the hospital to give birth almost 4 yrs ago and worrying about what I was going to miss on. Now I'd rather watch The Shield or Boston Legal. I sure hope they pick up the pace soon b/c I miss the old Sopranos....bring them back!! :D

Another disappointing show. What a bummer. The previews for next week look promising. Hmmmmmm. I feel cheated.

I hope this series gets better in a hurry! I miss the old episodes where you never knew what was going to happen next and you were suprised everytime.

Well DrewsLou, what did you think of THIS episode? It's certainly more in line with what I expected this season to be like!

Did you notice how frequently the storyline has touched on weight issues? Johnny Sack's 'other' daughter is sooooo skinny - it's like she took the oposite path but she still has food/weight issues; Jenny Sack saying she was going to get to her goal weight - was going to get into her dress no matter what, and at the wedding, her daughter saying something like 'congratulations, you almost got near your goal weight'; Tony telling his new body guard/driver he needed to get back into the gym and the guy offering to put a program together for Tony; Tony asking Bobby about his weight after seeing him playing basketball. Lot's of weight discussion for a one hour episode. Interesting.

The very end of the episode was pretty scary - that was a lot of blood. I wonder if Tony is going to survive the season. I'm pretty sure Vito isn't going to! Have you ever seen a more straight man playing a gay character before? LOL Vito looked SO out of place in that bar! That's been a weird story-line ever since Finn saw him with that security guard. I can't imagine where it's going - except to Vito's grave with him.

See ya next time.

This weeks episode was A LOT better! They are starting to get back to what I love about this show. I cannot beleieve they let Johnny Sack out for his daughters wedding.... like that would happen in the real world! I did notice all the references to weight in this episode. Ginny has certainly gotten bigger this year I think. It's nice that Johnny seems to love her all the same though ( even though he's a scum sucking pig).

What the heck was Tony's deal at the end? Proving his manhood? Making sure everyone knew he was still the boss?

I about died when they showed Vito in his gay biker gear. That was hysterical!! Do you think he killed himself? Or maybe someone else?

See ya next week!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
