Travel And Blood Clots

I attended my pre-op class yesterday and they said to not travel more than 30 mins at a time to avoid blood clots for 4 weeks. I will be going back to work a week after surgery and I travel 3 hours a day on my work commute. Has anyone else heard this before. I can understand a trip to Florida or something, but I have to go to work. Any advise would be nice, I do plan on talking to my doctor too.

I had my surgery on June 4 and flew to New Mexico on June 20. My surgeon put me on aspirin every day while I returned. The aspirin helped keep good circulation since my trip was so soon after my surgery. I didn't have any problems while I was gone. Check with your surgeon for suggestions.

Congratulations on being banded!

Two days after surgery, I flew home and that was a 6 hour plane ride. I was fine. I also have a history of blood clots.
