My name is Angie, and I thought I would introduce myself since I am new to the site. I am 34 years old...although I still feel like I am still in my early 20s, only a lot wiser, lol. I am from Texas, have been married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years, and have 3 beautiful children.

I topped out at 274 lbs. and I am 5'2.5". I have struggled with weight my entire life, and had to endure being the only fat child of 3. My sisters were both thin and beautiful. I feel like it is my turn now. I had the surgery on 6/14 to get healthy and to finally feel good about myself. I did it for ME! I look forward to learning more about myself and this journey I am on, and I also look forward to meeting more of you fellow bandsters out there.

Way to go from one Texas gal to another! I am happy for you and glad you made the choice to have the surgery and join the site. It is pretty supportive. I have learned alot.

I was 272 before pre - opt and now I am 7ish weeks out and down 30lbs! I already feel ver good and I have had 3 fills. The last one took me to green zone and it is wonderful.

Hey Angie, Melinda in Florida here. Welcome to the site and welcome to bandworld. Sounds like you are off to a good start. I too am a shorty - 5'2" ( on a tall day) and I began at 268 pounds. I am 60 years old (act like 30 though j/k). I was banded 7/7/11 and I am down to 170. I feel great..I walk everyday (unless we have another Tropical Storm come our way - 2 in the last month). I plan on joining a gym in July to start some weight training to get rid of some of the excess flab (if possible). Hanging flab or not, I am soooo glad I had the surgery and would again in a minute. I look forward to seeing you on the web,

Melinda in Florida

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
