April 2006 Bandits

Recommended Posts

Jen,

Where will you be staying? Are you going to be with family? My mom is coming to stay with me. This should be interesting because she's my eating buddy and we both know it. She's doing First Place right now at her church so that helps and once I'm banded we've been discussing how much cheaper it will be for us to eat out. We get to share meals. :D

Can you believe how close our time is getting? I'm beginning to not sleep due to excitement. All I can think is "This is my last Monday night unbanded!" Gotta love these last thoughts!

Monday is almost over, 6 days left. :D

I keep racking my brain over what I should do to prepare.

1 getting my hair done Friday, before it falls out.

2 mani and pedi with out polish of course

3 laundry, so i don't have to mess with it

4 ?????

suggestions anyone?

by the way I am not really vain, but i always feel better when i look as good as possible. besides my doc is kinda a hotty :)

P. S. I have lost 3 lbs on this stupid :) pre op diet. Not too bad considering I started Friday.

That is the day I am scheduled too!!! Congratulations! I have already started on the liquid meals. Last week I subsituted one meal and this week I am doing 2. I started them bc I don't like to drink my meals. However, I really like the Optifast chicken Soup.

Have you done all your lab work etc.?

I am encouraged to know that we share the same date. I will be thinking about you. I will carry you in my heart and hope that everything goes SUPERB during your surgery.:clap2:

Have you picked up all your post- surgical needs?

Gas X

Liquid Tylenol

SF Popsicles

SF Applesauce

Heating Pad

Protein Shakes

chewable Vit.

Chewable Calcium

Benefiber

SF Jello

broth

Scar removal gel

Sports Bra ( underwire hurts after surgery)

I have a big bag that I've filled with the above essentials so that I don't have to run around doing this after I get out of the hospital. Also request your Rx for your pain medication BEFORE surgery so that you don't have to stop on the way home from the hospital to pick that up.

Pre- op testing is next week for me......I'm getting scared:paranoid You'll be in our prayers. I've waited 6 months for this, and now I can't believe the moment is almost here.

I had my op 9 days ago. I agree, have everything on the list, available and ready. Except the sports bra, if your a guy, as am I. (I may try one to see if it helps any ...lol)

If you have something that sooths your stomach, you may want to have it on hand also. For example, when I feel the need to throw-up, I can drink pineapple juice and my stomach calms down immediately.

One other thing. If you don't get the "gas" off your stomach fast enough, it will get into the cells. Once the gas has settled into the cells, it will cause the infamous shoulder pain :angry .....a heating pain will help with the pain, but walking - a lot of walk - will work the best.

Gas X (got two boxes, I have problems with gas anyway)

Liquid Tylenol (two boxes of children's liquid, mom is looking for adult)

SF Popsicles (already in the freezer)

SF Applesauce (don't like)

Heating Pad (have two)

Protein shakes (clear and chocolate and unflavored on the way)

Chewable Vit. (already been on it for a month)

Chewable calcium (started last week)

Benefiber (using Fiber Choice and started last week)

SF Jello (lots)

Broth (lots, but I cook with it all the time)

Scar removal gel (not yet, but soon)

Sports Bra ( underwire hurts after surgery) (none of my bras have underwire)

I've also stocked up on my movies and of course I'll have my grad school homework to keep me company. There's probably more but I have a room full of 1st graders right now and they won't let me think too much.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
