I had a mini tuck done 10 years ago, I'm trying to get the nerve up to do it again, along with a breast reduction, 2nd one. If I chose to get it done, I want the breast, tummy, and eyelids all done at the same time. If I'm gonna be in pain, may as well make it worth while.

I'm not done having kids but when I had my surgery this week to remove my right ovary I told the dr if he ended up doing a full hysterectomy I wanted a Tummy Tuck and not to wake me up unless I had one. If I can, by the grace of God, have another baby, I'll have a hysterctomy and a tummy tuck all at the same time.

Hi,

I had a Tummy Tuck last August. My insurance paid for the hospital stay and paid only for a panniculectomy. I covered the rest. My surgeon got about 1,000 dollars from insurance and I upgrade to full TT which cost 5750. I gave him the difference which was 4750. I also had a deductable of up to 2,000. I had the TT and medial thighplasty done at the same time which would have cost me about 8 or 9K in surgical fees and around 15K if I had to pay for my 4 day hospital stay and anesthesia. So altogether I paid about 5750 for all of the work that was done to me. Still cheaper than self pay for two procedures. Also my plastic surgeon removed a mole on my face and lasered some discoloration around my eyes for free. It was worth it.

I had a full TT, breast lift and Lipo done a couple of weeks ago. I paid $27000 all up. I will get a little back, around $1500 from Medicare.

Has anyone had insurance pay for the majority of it? I am going to need to have my icky saggy belly removed and a boob lift...if insurance payed- what did you do to document problems like sore backs, rashes, etc.? My PCP is the coolest and is all ready to start documenting stuff.

Thanks!

Megan

I've not has PS but a friend of mine who had GB has, and after two denials they (her & plastic surgeon) were able to get approval. If it's something you *need*, they're much more likely to cover than if it's something you *want*. It takes a hard case to prove real need, but be persistent. She has given me hope b/c I'm pretty sure I'll need it some day. :D

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (traditional plan) and my Dr's office says as long as I lose 100 pounds and keep it off for a period of time the insurance co will pay for the plastic surgery if the Dr deems it necessary. Not sure what the time period is but I think its 6 months you have to hold that loss.

Because the area I want worked on it the skin hang and fat below my belt line it will be covered because the Dr says that area has numerous infections and health problems due to the continual mositiure in this area.

So I'm working on the last bit of weight to get to the 100 pound loss then will start the paperwork for my surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
