Your Out Of Pocket For Surgery.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your insurance terms. Basically, what was his charge for the whole procedure? My insurance pays 90%, I am left with 10% not bad, but I have vacay coming. What was your total cost of the surgery, what percentage did you have to pay through your insurance.

If that is too personal, just don't bother answering. Just trying to be prepared.

That is disgusting how they over bill the insurance companies and they still end up paying way more than us self pay people had to pay. No wonder healthcare is where it's at... Greedy hospitals/Doctors.

I think you hit the nail directly on the head! Our medical system is driven more by greed than any concern for the American people! Nothing is standard, nothing is managed, and they are free to charge anything their little hearts desire! The checks and balances for this industry is need of some serious overhaul!

So far, I've paid out of pocket for Phychatrist evaluyation ($200) The day of surgery if it's in and out patient will be $250. If I have to stay over night it will cost me $500. The rest of the bills are paid by BCBS. Of course all the Protein shakes, special diet foods and chewable Vitamins are all costs we have to endure.

I have my doctor appt on Jul 10, nutrition class same day, and then hopefully pick a date for surgery. I've lost 15 pounds since Jun 18 using Protein shakes and a nice dinner salad. I felt by eating light early my pre-surgery 2 weeks of liquids will be easier on me.

Very anxious for the band.

My insurance was billed 16,500 i paid 175 for the nutritionist but found out i get reimbursed!
