New Here And Just Had My Band June 4Th

Recommended Posts

I am new to this site and can't wait to meet everyone here!! On the stuff I have been reading on the internet about the band is I shouldn't really be losing weight b/c my band is empty?? I know it has only been 5 days and that I shouldn't be weighing myself but I just cant help it. I am down 13 pounds!! Am I doing something WONG?? or am I just a lucky one who is losing the weight right away?? Like I said I know it has only been 5 days but now I am starting to feel hungry so not sure if I am really hungry or if it is out of habit to want to eat?? I am just now getting to where I can drink about 25oz a day. Any suggestions and or comments sure will help!!

Rule one everyone is different. Some people lose at the beginning some don't. Losing so much weight at the beginning is great. As long as your following your drs orders you doing the right thing. Getting hungry- your right on track. Stick it out and don't give in to eat because you are in the healing phase

Keep drinking and walk.

Have you been eating sf Jello or ice pops this is the season!!

Good luck! Sounds like your doing great!

For me the first 3 days i couldnt even drink half a water bottle let alone Soups. I felt so full that my hubby had to make me drink the Water. I never got darrhea either. I am now just getting to where i feel hungry so when ever I try to eat fat free sugar free Jello i can only take about 2 -3 small bites and I am done.. I am sorry i don't think I am the right person to help ya if it is normal or not i just had my surgery on Monday.

If i remember correctly it took many days to even be able to drink a whole Optifast. They say 64 oz and i couldn't drink that much at the beginning either just keep on sipping. Sometimes the Protein Drinks give you diarrhea.

You sound like you doing great.

Hi gang, I'm just 2 days post-op and am finding that I can't handle much liquid either - maybe half a cup of Protein shake at a time. I do sip Water throughout the day, not sure how many oz I'm taking in but doing my best to stay hydrated. So far, no post-surgery diarrhea (on the three day liquid diet pre-surgery, it was awful!). I think the point is that everyone's body is going to handle this differently, and we have to be very in tune and listen to what our own system is telling us. Knowing we have to stay hydrated and not stretch out the pouch, this should be our first priority. Congrats on already losing 13 pounds! I'm not getting on the scale for a while, I feel bloated and don't want to be discouraged.

GREAT job and thanks everyone for sharing! D

Yes I know what you mean by being SCARED to get on the scale lol... I felt really bloatd as well but I just had to know lol... My hubby had to hide the scale from me b/c he didn't want to get down if the #'s were down.. I do want to weight myself once a week like I did when I went to weight watchers.. I can't WAIT to be like some of the other guys and gals on here that have LOST a ton of weight!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
