4 Days Pre-Op

Hello my name is Melissa. I am 4 days pre-op and my emotions are all over the place! I am truly excited to be having this done but scared out of my mind at the same time! I am on day 3 of my liver shrinking diet and so far so good other than this fowl taste in my mouth and I could slay a dragon with my breath! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You are probably in ketosis. When you deprive your body of carbs the body will switch and start turning fat into fuel the body can use for energy. This will sometimes cause a taste in your mouth. Fowl breath too.

Enjoy the ride...you will start to drop weight very quickly. I would weight myself in the morning and go back at lunch and would have lost weight...I averaged a pound every day for the 2 week pre-op. It was worderful!!! But if you eat too many carbs...its over.

Keeep the carb low and it will last all the way until your surgery.

Then post-op is different, because you will need to drink things that will have carbs in it.....then the body will switch the ketosis off. :(

I will put myself in ketosis every now again to boost my weight loss. Works like a charm.
