Okay ladies I am 10 days post op and I have no fill in my band. My doctor doesn't believe in adding any during surgery as he says he doesn't have any way of knowing how much I might have swelled. So I know that I have zero restriction, other than the band being in place. Here is the thing. I eat 1/2 cup of mushy food 3 times a day and I have two small Protein Shakes and I am trying to get as much Water in as possible. I am not hungry at all. I get full on my 1/2 cup and sometimes less. I hear so many talking about starving and eating tons. I am not complaining but just curious is this even normal or is their something wrong? I don't vomit or have a hard time getting things down. If I did I might think the band had moved. Its been this way since my fist day. I am loosing weight and so that is great I am just worried what I will be like after a fill. I have also heard so many saying that hunger comes when you are healed. so am I not healing? I just don't know and I really wanted to ask you all what you think. I see the doctor next week so I will know more then but just wanted to know what you all think... Thanks in advance.

Tam :)

Hey Tammy... I'm not hungry often either, I'm not worried cause I'm losing. Some foods trigger appetites maybe it's what you are eating. As long as you are following Dr. Orders you will be fine. Also it appears you are consuming your Protein and that it self keeps you full. You're healing- don't worry! Everyone is different... :-)

You are fine! I think every one is just differnt. I'm like you, I eat every 4 to 5 hours and I eat the amount my nutrient told me to eat. I have never been hungry and some times I can not eat all of my food. I was banded on May 2. I also worried about how I was going to feel when they put liquid in my band. But my surgery was 4 weeks ago and I don't get a fill until June 27. I have notice that I'm getting hungry now right around my 3 1/2 hrs instead of my 5th hour. So I think by the time I get my fill it will be needed. We will all have to sit back and find out. But I'm sure our Dr's know what they are doing. just follow your dr instructions and you will be fine.

I'm right there with you. Only feeling hungry a tiny bit here and there. Still on full liquids until next Tuesday when I go back for my post-op and change over to mushies.

My office told me they had a lady who had the surgery who did not have a fill for the first year. The mental idea of just having the band inside was enough that she maintained a good, steady weight loss without extra restriction. So, you never know. I have to imagine, there has to be "some" restriction even without a fill in it.

Thanks everyone... I actually had my tummy growl today. I had 4 oz of yogurt at one sitting and that seemed like a lot for me. Thanks I was worried about how It would be after I got restriction. Of course I want to loose the extra weight but I want to do it being healthy too. Hope everyone is having a great week!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
