Three Yrs. In My Band Slipped. No Symptoms To Fix Or Sleeve?

Recommended Posts

My band slipped couple of months ago Dr. Took everything out I went back 6wks. Later and it had fixed itself. Got a fill and went back 8wks later and now he says it slipped again. The weird thing is I never threw

Up much. No reflux. Dr says I can have fixed or do the sleeve. I had him leave alone for the next two months untill I decide what to do. I have no reflux and I still have restriction so I'm fine for now but should I have fixed or do the sleeve?

So sorry you are having trouble. Statistics show that slips are more likely to reoccur after slipping the first time. I have been very fortunate in my band journey. I have lost 80 lbs since my surgery 21 months ago but if I started having slips, I would revise to the sleeve in a heartbeat. So far, my band has been a good tool and I hope it stays that way.

I was at my goal but now I've put on about 12lbs. So I know I can't do it a lone.

Thanks for your reply

Thank you for your post. The sleeve is sounding better all the time the only bad thing my Ins. Won't pay for it.

I'd probably have the band fixed surgically, before revising, personally.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Running scared, I would've suggested the same thing IF she didn't present a history of slips, one of which happened without her realizing it. The chances of her having a slip is much greater than another person who has never had a slip at all.

Debbie, can you appeal to your insurance company? If not, I totally understand the out of pocket part. If my insurance didn't cover WLS, I would've never been able to afford it, short of winning the lottery. Does your doctor think it needs repositioning?

If you can't afford the sleeve right now, I would at least get the tool you have fixed in the meantime. Just my 2 cents.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
