Has Anyone Gone Through The University Of Iowa Hospital For Their Band?

I have my first appointment at the bariatric department at the University of Iowa on June 22. I am not sure what to expect as the appointment is 4-5 hours long. I am also wondering what happens next and what the time frame is for actually getting the surgery? Do the doctors at the U have you follow a diet before the surgery and if they do for how long? I have a couple things going on in July and August and I am having a hard time figuring outhow my summer will go as I want the surgery to be top priority.

Hi there, I'm not sure what they'll do at the appointment, mine wasn't that long til my pre-op one (I was banded in north Carolina), but I'm from Iowa city, my dad taught at the medical school (microbiology) for 37 years- so just wanted to say hi to a fellow Iowan!

Call them and ask what to expect, maybe.
