4 Day Post Op Lots Of Gurgling And Gas

Hi,

Became part of banded world 4/20. Doing quite well I think with only over the counter drugs and return to work today. I am having lots of gurgling and gas in stomach (no gas from surgery I know lucky ). Is this normal? Gas is even at night when not eating my 1/4 cup of shake. I'm thinking just body figuring out new system. I'm not sure if hungry as the gurgling is sort of the type when really hungry. Smelling food gets me but think so far not really physically hungry and trying to get my meager meals down (not hard as its two sips). Also lost about 9lb before surgery but only about 3.5 so far... Eating next to nothing think be fast. Not going to freak out yet.

I read that the gas and gurgling is normal. Have you tried gasx .. I was told by my surgeon to be sure to have gasx melts on hand that i would want them after surgery. As for not much weight loss yet as someone pointed out (not sure with my medical background why i didnt think of it) we are starving a system that is use to alot of food so its in shock and thus slowing down our metablosim but when it relizes that hey this is what we have then it will start using the stores of fat we have for energy...

lol besides 3.5 lbs in 4 days is more then the 2 lbs a week they suggested we will lose your doing great.

Yes, my alien baby makes all sorts of embarrassing noises sometimes. Not as much not as it did the first week but she's still in there.

Keep focused on moving forward.

I know shouldn't complain. I'll be slow loser but 1-2 lb a week consistently I'll be thilled. My history is work my butt off and lose 1lb then next week think work as hard and gain .5... Just so unmotivating! Do have the gas x strips guess should use a little more!

I had my surgery on the 19th and I'm experiencing the same thing. It sounds like my tummy is having a party. I also lost quite a bit before surgery and now it has slowed down. I just keep reminding myself that this first 4-6 weeks is for healing and for my body to become adjusted to a new life. So many changes. But they are GOOD changes!
