Got my insurance approval, started per-op diet yesterday - 2 Protein Shakes a day and one Soup.< /p>

Surgery scheduled for 4/18/12

OH, and I committed the ultimate sin yesterday too.

I had my appt, had to run by the office first, so I grabbed coffee and headed out....

Drove for a hour in traffic, got there. Had our one hour group class. ( Someone asked about having Easter dinner - so the instructor said she'd give us ONE meal to have other food, but not to go crazy. Well now, lets think about this... Can we reallly be trusted to not go crazy? Although certainly not everyone, in every case, but as a rule we don't restrict ourselves well, thats how we got into this in the first place. )

Left the class, went to the office - didn't have anything in the way of a shake or soup there, so I waited. Got home, husband had a shake for lunch so he didn't want another one for dinner - kicked around at home, went to the store, bought the stuff to make a big pot of soup. By then the coffee I'd had a 7AM had worn off hours before and I was starving...

So I had TWO big bowls of soup, last night after 8PM.

I know better. All day I kept telling my self that going all day without eating was a mistake. I know all the rules - yet....

My surgery is scheduled for April 13. I'm just waiting to hear back from my insurance company which feels like its taking forever when in reality it's only been 2 days. I am a mix of super excited And super nervous. Does anyone happen to know how long it will be until I will be able to pick up my 20 lb baby again?

I'm going in for my surgery tomorrow at 8am down in LA. Waiting now to hear from transportation to see what time they will pick me up for the 6 hour drive down. Not to worried but had to deal with a last minute break down from my mom who is really worried and thinks I'm going to die =/ I calmed her down a bit but calls me every few mins still. I wish it was closer to my home so she could visit me at the hospital.

Tell your mom this is the safest surgery of all the weight loss surgery. I have 4 young children at home who need their mommy. I am getting the band cause I was paranoid about dying in surgery with all the other types. Let us know who it goes. Good luck!!!!

Hi everyone... Will be banded on April 18th, and tomorrow's my last day of real food before the liquid diet and I'm freaking out... More than freaking out, I'm having a very real physical anxiety attack... My palms are sweating, nerves are all twisted up and I've got hot adrenaline rushing through my body. The idea of all the "you can never ever have this again" foods are totally stressing me out. I'm not worried about the actual surgery or pain, I'm worried about the food. I feel like an addict about to have his fix taken away and I'm in a panic. Please someone tell me that I'm going to be ok? I've done my research and I'm sure I want to do this, so please I don't want any responses that it's the worst decision you ever made. I don't know what I am expecting this to be afterwards, but I feel like it's going to be the end of my world and I'm SCARED!!

The panic passes after the first few days. Your mental part will adjust as well. Hold on and hold strong. We are accountable now so don't give in. Once you are healed and able to eats solids just think of all the GOOD foods you can create and put in your body. This may be a challenge now but hold strong and keep on drinking liquids it keeps you full. Good luck!

I'm the 18th too, SashaWLS. I'm not having the anxiety yet. Although you'll notice I'm on here instead of working, so maybe I am and don't know it. AND there are tornados all over the place here in our area and I'm not watching the weather, I'm researching lab-band. HMMM

Started my pre-op diet yesterday. Had a shake for lunch today, will be having Soup for dinner. We can chat it up and keep each other calm.

What is your pre-op diet like?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
