Kami76065 got a reaction from Phoebster in I Need A Buddy In The Dfw Area!Ok DF/W banders, wanna be banders, and curious ... lets set up an evening, after work, where we can gather.
Irving or Arlington might be good just because there are those of us from Rockwall and Benbrook, Allen and Alvarado ....
Lets hear some suggestions. We are all at different stages so we can't all have the same things. My suggestion is Mexican food or maybe a steak house. Because Soup, refried Beans or baked potato, and Protein like steak and chicken.
Say??? A Tuesday night? June 5th?
Let me hear from you. You can email, text, message on here, or whatever.

Kami76065 got a reaction from JessRess in Burping, All The TimeI am following my guidelines pretty closely. I was 3 days early on the beef yes, but this is with water and everything and has been going on since day one. This isn't the early beef.
Btw- if I hadn't had the beef I would have killed someone and therefore be in jail being fed bologna sandwiches!

Kami76065 got a reaction from Jepegurl in Day 12 Post Opp. An HungryWas banded on 4/18. I don't think I'm hungry, but still feel tight in my chest. Not painful. Just tight. Like if I take a deep breath, it's tight.
Went to dinner with friends last night, MEXICAN FOOD!! I ordered a cup of tortilla Soup. Spooned out all the chicken, tortillas and avacado - and then had the broth. About 7 or 8 spoon fulls. perfect. I wasn't hungry (but then wasn't when I started either) but felt like I was having dinner with my friends.

Kami76065 got a reaction from Imagettnthin in Is This Normal??I am using My Fitness Pal ( android app ) to monitor calories. Wow. No wonder I am fat! I had no idea how many calories some things had. We don't really eat fried foods and things like that, but things like the creamer in my coffee! Wow.
Anyone else shocked?

Kami76065 got a reaction from lltaylor_2003 in Is This Normal??I am a newbie. I do not profess to know anything.
But honestly, I don't get it. How does the intake change? I don't doubt that it does, but I don't understand how. I'm newly banded and watch the forum for information. I'm not getting anywhere near as many calories as I should, and I know it. I'm just now on mushies and I expect it to get better soon.
I assume (ass-u-me) that when I can eat the Protein I'm eventually supposed to be able to have, I will responsible for making sure I don't have more that one portion.
But am I supposed to be seeing how much I can eat? Right now, I can tell you it's not much. But I see questions like this all the time where people say they can eat more than they should be able to.
I understood or misunderstood, whichever way you look at it, my nutritionist to say the band was a tool to help me feel full faster, but that I would still have to watch my food, be responsible for my intake, and pay attention to my diet. I understood it wasn't about what I could eat, more about what I should eat.
I'm not passing any judgement, because Lord knows I wouldn't be in this shape if I had any good sense about nutrition. Before I get the hate mail that I'm sure will follow, someone explain to me where my misconception is.

Kami76065 reacted to SashaWLS in Omg! I Just Screwed Up!Hooray, you made your first mistake and survived. I'm sure it's one of a huge stretch of them to come! :-) I'm sure mine is coming right behind yours, and hoping it won't be a painful one!!!
How are you doing now? You posted about 45 mins ago, so I assume it has gone down by now but wanted to say I hope you're feeling better.

Kami76065 got a reaction from mybaby in When Is It Safe To Eat Bread Or Potato Chips?according to my nutritionist it's safe to eat those when you're ready to gain your weight back....
She did say dry, crunchy things like chips were sliders and would go down easily, as a matter of fact too easily and go right on through and you wouldn't feel full, and therefore wouldn't stop when you should - thus gain it back.
I've never seen a chip as appealing as a size 8! LOL

Kami76065 reacted to NWgirl in More Than Half Of Weight Gained BackI have read that some people go back to the post-op diet for a short time to try and get their head back in the game.

Kami76065 got a reaction from DebraV in New To The ForumOf course your doctor knows what he/she wants you to have, but I find that a 1/2 tsp of sugar free dry instant pudding mix makes a world of difference on the shakes. Try the cheesecake pudding mix. Or pastachio (sp?) butterscotch is wonderful as well, and if the calorie count will allow, a tsp of peanut butter!
I blend the powered mix with ice and flavorings like the pudding mix. WONDERFUL

Kami76065 reacted to MauiJax in I think I'm done losing.I'm so confused reading all these post. I have been banded for three years and lost 93 pounds and it took me 3 years to get there. No I am not at my "goal weight." But who cares! Our life is about a journey, not a destination. I am alive, I no longer have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, pre diabetes, and depression. Remember WLS is a tool not a cure. We still have to work it everyday. Our lifestyle needs to change, this is not a diet. A Lifestyle Change!!!!! And it can be incredibly fun. So congratulations to everyone who has lost 60 or 30 or 20 or even 1 pound!!!! Now stop crying about your expectations not being met and go celebrate and enjoy what you have accomplished....

Kami76065 reacted to tobethin30 in Pre-Op-DietI did two shakes a day and one lean cuisine for dinner and lots and lots of water. When I needed something extra I had broth. Hope that helps and good luck.
