Pre Op Diet! Hard Times, Trying Not To Be Discouraged!

Recommended Posts

well my surgery is less than a week away, scheduled for february 16th !!! Yay I am so excited, before yesterday it was all i could think about! however my aunt passed away whom I was very close to, so now I kind of have that clouding up my brain.

Through all of it I am just trying to stay on track!!

At work today my boss asked me to get him lunch, man, that was hard. I am currently on my pre op diet. So I had to walk in to one of my favorite fast food joints and order him like the worst thing you could order. I am obviously strong because I did it, but definitely hard. I guess i can be positive about that and think well I have lost 7lbs in 5 days due to the fact that I am changing my life away from those bad choices the old me used to make. I'll claim VICTORY on that. Just felt like voicing that.

Great job! I know it can be hard, but you are strong (as you've just seen) and it will be worth it.

Keep it up! :)

I feel your pain. I have surgery 2/20. I had to sit in a lunch meeting with 25 coworkers eating burgers and fries while I sipped my hmr shake. I wanted to cry. I made it but whoa was it rough.

Sorry for your loss... I am having surgery the same day as you are, I added you as a friend so we can stay in touch and support each other if you want. You are doing great and will have much success because you are focused. Let's keep in touch.... Teresa

Jennxaz, while you're on your liquid diet are you allowed to drink vegetable juices? i havent been banded yet, but I love juicing and was hoping to get my vegetable nutrients in by juicing kale, cucumbers, carrots, etc.... They are delicious!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
