Great news "newme"!! Sounds like you're right on track! Take it easy and keep that great attitude!

Thanks smmrsue, yes I'm glad she'll be with me for the whole journey! I'm just praying I don't have to end up re-scheduling if the approval doesn't come through in time! Have a great day!

Getting banded on March 21 and started my liquid diet yesterday.

Dhales, isnt this awful to say, but fingers crossed you have a hernia?! wow that sounds bad. I mean that in the nicest possible positive way for you. ;-)

Sharon, Its done! Yay. Med pump ahhhh. Lucky you. I was told I will just get panadol. Good luck with your walk.

I just found out I am the second last on the list for Monday. What a looonnngggg nerve-racking wait I will have will have - sitting in a room full of strangers for 5 hours... ipod, book, phone... there is 2 hours......

Keep us posted peoples. xxxx :)

I have a HERNIA....I just had my EGD this morning. I am awaiting my surgery date. Woohoo!

Congratulations to all the new banders :)

I'm scheduled for March 30...so so so so nervous.

Know I want to be skinny....didn't succeed on my own....every few months I'm just going up and up a few pounds (now up forty five pounds since I quit smoking in 2008).....and I have a feeling it will just continue as food has become my new addiction....the band should take care of that...right? :)

I ha my surgery on the first. Look forward to getting to know u all and workin together for our success!!

I had my procedure on March 1st. How's everyone doin?

Had surgery on March 1st with a hiatal hernia repair. 5 days post op and the pain has improved somewhat. Be glad when the pain over. I feel like my stomach is about to fall out when i get up. Been walking as much as the pain allows. Thanks 4 asking ;)

Thanks! I just don't know how my Dr will be about it. They seem so serious about nothing but water/protein shakes for two weeks. I need the 8th to get here soon (my pre-op and Dr visit).. Surgery the 9th! 1 wk left yay

Yvonne, I doubt there is too much real MILK in th sugar free Jello pudding cups, maybe try those with some protein powder stirred in?

Hi all!

I have now completed everything and waiting to hear back from the insurance company. My fingers and toes are crossed. I am really hoping to join the March Bandsters!

I am sorry, I need to tell about my recent experience during this process. Recently I had to completed my Psych evaluation (the very last thing). The very first person I went to (approved by my doctor) was a woman who had her masters and licensed counselor. After meeting with her 2 different times she proceed to tell me she would write the letter, but she had reservations about me having the surgery and would state that in the letter. It was obvious you didn't know anything about the lap surgery, I had to explain what the surgery was. She told me in her heart she felt that if I felt good about myself that the weight would come off. She referred me to the medi weight loss center. If you don't know anything about Medi weight loss they have a very strict diet that you take like 10 pills vitamins a day, B12 injections and Appetite suppressant. She felt that the 6 week diet after surgery (liquid diet, mushy food) was not enough time to learn how to eat better and that I would just end up back at square 1 unlike the medi weight loss that is teaching you healthy way for the rest of your life. I walked out crying. Thank goish for the support from my family I started calling other doctors as soon as possible. I completed last week and they were faxing my recommendation this week.

It does feel like everything is going to fall out. It feels stitched tight and for me feels better if I support my belly. Tried a back thingy but it's too bulky maybe it will work for you. U guess they pulled things tight w a hernia. Keep healing. Youll get there.

To aemh...Wishing you the best of luck with the process..I am so upset right now..I just received the denial from my insurance company stating that even though my BMI is 39.5, I don't have any other co-morbidities to approve the surgery..I am going to appeal this because I have a strong family history of diabetes and heart disease, even though I don't have it yet, I am on the road to getting it! wouldn't they rather me avoid it now?? anyone have any suggestions on appealing this? thanks..Karen

Hey guys I am here for my update, I got to the hosp around 7am, we checked in and sat in the waiting for about a half an hour. Then the nurse came to get me and had me change into my gown and take a pee test(for possible pregnancy, they say they require this of all patients of child bearing age). They asked me a ton of questions then hooked up the IV, and brought my husband back to wait with me. The doctor came out to see how I was doing and gave me a pill to help me relax and then we had to wait about another 1/2 hr. This was prob the worst part of the day cuz I was anxious and freezing from the IV!! Around 8:30 I said by to my hubby and they rolled me into the OR, they put something in my IV and the next thing I new I was waking up in recovery and it was 10:30, I was in and out for the next hour, but at 11:30 they got me up to check my incisions and bring me to the bathroom (cuz I rreaallly had to pee), at 12 they wheeled me to my hosp room (where I am now) I met my nurse and she helped me change into my pjs (so happy about that) and had me walk around the hallways while she asked me a ton of questions and then gave me ice chips!! My mouth is sooo dry so this is soooo amazing! The pain in very mimimal, maybe a one or two, but I do have a morphine drip I can press the button whenever I start feeling pain, so that is prob why I'm doing so well! No gas pains and all in all am soooo happy its over and I get to startt this amazing new journey! Sorry so long winded, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I'm my mysel
