Any of you have the scales of a yo-yo?? One day I will be down 9 lbs and a day or two later, I will be up 6 lbs.. Sometimes I think I can see it in the mirror but others I am like ugh, it isn't helping. :(

When I started off on my diet I was starving! Then I got passed that but now I'm starving again! I'm getting nervous but I know that I can't keep going the path that I'm on. Next Thur is getting closer. After church on Sunday everyone went to CiCi's and I was proud of my self! I just had salad and really did not want the pizza! smile.png

.. that would be very encouraging for you im sure..

..more on this, i was interrupted. its a positive experience to know that you can be with a group of people eating out and you can still be so disciplined. for me, lack of discipline has been the bane of my life. being retired for many years hasnt helped. lol. we just do what we like when we like. when it comes to eating that can cause big problems.

judych I'm coming to realize that my weakness is sweets! Yikes! I'm currently not working which in away is great for me. I worked a 9 hr job for 9 yrs and they bought our lunch so if I were still there then this journey I'm about to start would have been triple hard on me. Not working now I can jump up and do whatever I need to get passed my hungry stages. Really if it were not for my hubby then I think I would struggle more. The first week of my pre op diet I lost 11lbs. Have been banded yet?

I start preop Monday the 5th....tried Unjury today, vanilla, it mixes great, takes good but I have to hold my breath with I take a sip, it stinks. The strawberry Sorbet was the same way. Both very doable though compared to other ones I've tried. Stocking up on broth, still need to get some more things this weekend. I know I can, I know I can, I know I can..... :)

yes, you're right... it is a lot just for fluid. are you noticing any swelling around your ankles, etc?? is your tummy swollen? i cant think what else it would be to be honest... if you havent been eating a lot, its a mystery. is there someone you can talk with, a support group in place for you after your surgery?? if it was me i would like to know as well.

I am getting more excited with each passing day. My pre-op starts tomorrow so I think Roadhouse is on the list for dinner!!! I stocked up on shakes and veggies' date=' protien over the weekend so I had something to eat. I have been trying the different flavors (only because I have a friend who had bypass and is sending me samples) of the Gold Standard Whey......so far it's not bad. I don't have a time yet but that is the least of my conerns.

Do you know what time your surgery throughthelookingglass?

D[/quote']

Mine is at I think about 1pm in the afternoon. Well my surgeon told me two shakes and chicken and green veg for dinner no Snacks. Until I contacted the dietician and he told me no meat some veges diet drinks and jellies and three shakes a day oh an some berries blah. Been interesting that's for sure. I was supposed to have surgery in feb but not approved through my superannuation. So i did the diet fir a week back then. I'm in Australia so I can access my superannuation early on compassionate grounds. So government dept of human resources has approved just waiting to hear from my super I'm sweating on it only next week now lol I'd hate to have to do this diet again arrgghh

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
