Soup like Tomato Soup does nothing for me as far as feeling full. I try to eat less but it is just me doing it not the band. I also eat cream of chicken soup for the first couple of days because it has Protein. I have had three fills and was worried that even this last one did not do much good but once I tried to eat more solid food I realized that I had restriction. I was getting very discouraged but feeling a lot better now. I bet you will be able to tell a diffrence once you are eating solid food. Just be careful and eat very very slow. Good Luck!

I would say the Portion Control overall is the goal of having the lap band . I would suggest you cut portions so that the weight loss can be achieved. I know I try to eat smaller amounts just on my own because I want to get to my goal weight as soon as I can. Good luck!

I felt no difference after my first fill, no restriction at all it seems like. I have my 2nd fill on Thursday, so I hope it helps me some.

i too just had my first fill yesterday. I have to eat liquids for the next 3 days and it's hard because i really hated this part of the process. How long do you need to eat liquids only (if any) before going back to solids?

I just had my fill too. My dr recommends day 1 of liquids and day 2,3 of soft foods. Atleast that's what I think I remember since it's been almost 5 months since my last one!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
