Can I please make a suggestion.....

Could a board be set up titled "Adult Topics"

Not everyone can get into this board, you must request access from Alex. The board can be kept invisible from new folks and the folks that do not wish to have access, but the ones who have access can see it.

Or, it can be visible but you would need a password to get in...something along those lines.

All adult threads and conversations can be moved to that board...yes, kinda like an anything goes board.

I have been getting some pm's and emails from new/old posters saying that they are posting alot less b/c of these types of threads.

This is a wonderful place and I'd hate to see it go down hill or scare people away from posting just b/c of a few threads.

Personally, they do not bother me but it is scaring some folks away.

Wadda think????

... tossing roung insecurities .... that's one of the reason I think that the sex threads are so important. We have many bandsters who've been fat their entire lives and haven't felt good about their bodies in a long time, if ever.

I think we need someplace to talk about these new feelings, but I think just labeling the threads is good enough.

Sorry Kylie if I offended. I am very glad you opted for the band instead of the other surgeries. I have a problem with WLS in the young because I deeply believe that not only is anatomy still shifting and evolving, but behavior and emotions too. Most of my band issues are emotional in nature and I know that I would not have been able to "handle it" whan I was fifteen.

I am glad you are progressing toward your goals and doing everyting you can to be healthy and happy. Thank you for replying to my post, I needed to hear it.

My question is... how did you find it? Are you supposed to be on this thread?

What do you think? Do we need a locked area, or are clear titles enough? I know fifteen isn't nearly as young as it used to be. Have you been shocked or offended by anything you've found here?

I don't think that areas need to be locked. Most of the things that the older people talk about are nothing new to me. Honestly, most of the things they talk about are things that, surprising as it may be, people at my school talk about.

So what's the general consensus of the board ? Have we decided how to approach this yet ?

Gosh I must be missing something. Where are the threads about sex? I've seen from time to time someone asking an honest question about sex and the band. I think that is legimate and I was curious about that as well. Don't want to give everything up! I think most can decide whether they want to read a thread or not. For instance, I know when I go into the American Idol thread I'm not going to read about the band. If you get started on this then we won't have someone sharing their surgery photos with us. I personally was so intrigued by that thread and the person posting warned upfront that the photos were graphic. I vote for self censorship.

I agree with you that self censorship should be the way to go. Let's see how it works.....

Marking the thread with an XXX is a great idea!

I think we decided on no separate forum because we wanted not to encourage MORE sex talk that wasn't band related.

If we had a separate forum, folks would feel obligated to fill it up...
