Is It Necessary To Visit The Surgeon A Year And 1/2 Out From Surgery?

I have question for the Lapband Community. I had surgery on September 28 2010. I have lost a good amount of weight and have no problems. I seem to be at my sweet spot. My biggest problem seems to be head hunger and nervous eating.. Also bad habits have a tendency to break through. Do you think that it is still necessary to visit my surgeon for follow ups? What can he do for me at this stage of the game???

Any and all advice both good and bad, welcome!

THanks.

You are supposed to commit to seeing your surgeon at least once a year for life postband. I am 2 and a half years out and am thinking of scheduling an appointment. I still try to go once every 6 months - I like the reassurance that everything is OK.

It is possible that you may need a small topup fill. The band does lose a little liquid/loosen slightly over time. As to what else he can do for you i am sure he would be the person best placed to answer that.
