4th Lap Band Adjustment

Recommended Posts

I got my 4th fill last Wednesday, since then I've noticed that I can't eat much if anything before 1 or 2 o'clock. I can get more food down the later it gets but I am concerned because I don't want to eat and go to bed. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do you eat before bedtime that won't destroy you on the scale?

Thanks!

My dr. says that is normal and I have heard other people say that also. So I drink a cup of warm tea in the morning before Breakfast and it seems to work. good luck on your journey.

Very normal. I can never eat Breakfast and most days can't do much for lunch either.

Very normal, I usually have a Protein Drink in the mornings. Just like my wedding ring, my band is very tight in the morning and actually too loose in the evening. Not because of calories but because of heartburn I have to really work not to snack at night...its all good!

this is me everyday. i don't get truly hungry until around 1pm. i have warm tea or coffee in the morning to help the tightness, then i drink a Protein Shake in the mornings. afternoons i have tuna salad, or chicken salad or egg salad. sometimes i have Soup, just make sure you get your Proteins in. for dinner, i eat a sensible dinner, if i am hungry before bed, i have a greek yogurt.

it is normal to be tighter in the mornings.

Thank you all! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Sometimes I have difficulty getting Water down in the mornings but I will definitely try to get in the Protein Shakes in the morning/afternoon.

I have only had one fill and it was 2cc's. Don't feel any restriction. How many cc's before you feel it?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
