I just had my surgery 3 days ago, I can tell you, I am a little sore, but nothing horrible. I feel much better when I get up and walk around because they fill your stomach with gas, and trying to get all that out is the hardest part. your shoulders may hurt from the gas too. Just keep moving. Also, dont try to eat anything right away, stay on Clear Liquids the first couple of days. I am just now progressing to a Protein Shake and I got a little light headed and nauseated after drinking it, but didnt throw up, which is a good thing.

Good luck, dont let people scare you, do what YOU feel is right.

I had my surgery 3 days ago also. I'm doing good. I am sore but not too bad. I'm getting progressively better as the clock ticks. I can feel a improvement from this morning. Walking makes me feel good!! I get tired fast but baby steps and I'll get there. I haven't been hungry!! Well, I did feel a little hungry when I woke up this morning. It went right away. My husband cooked chicken wings last night that made the house smell sooooo good!!! But it was awesome to not be "hungry" to want them So it makes me realize that this would have been one of the times I ate when I didn't need too. I've stuck with my Protein Shakes. Though, today I did mix it half Water and half skim milk and it was so much easier to sip down. I don't care for the Protein Drinks I got from the hospital. They say they're like a Gatorade. But I'm just not a big fan. I'm going to my in-laws for Christmas dinner and I'm going prepared. I'm going to have a Protein Shake, have low sodium broth for dinner, diluted apple juice to toast the holidays and SF Jello for dessert. I'm set!!! And I'm excited that I will be able to make this work.

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Don't let anyone get you nervous. There are so many success stories!!! Let your be the next one added on to that list!

Merry Christmas!!!

I am 17 days post op. I had a lot of pain the first week and I'm still really getting settled. Walk...walk and walk. It helps. It's more soreness that internal pain. Everyone in my life is anti- band but I did what I felt was right for me. Just educate yourself and prepare so that you have the best opportunity for success.

Try to relax. Don't let other people scar you. I have some negative people around me that did not think the band was the way to go, but it is the right thing for me - I did not want parts of my body re-arranged and/or removed, or the longer recovery that comes with the other options. I'm now 2 days out from my LB surgery and there has been pain, but not extreme pain. The gas they pump in and trying to get up from a bed or chair has been the worst part - go for walks, they have made me feel better. Good luck! It's normal to be nervouse. Think about how you will feel at 180, how much easier it will be to get around and get through life - there is a price to pay to get there.

My surgery was a little over three months ago and I haven't had the first minutes pain. If you have a decent surgeon and hospital, there's almost

no risk. The American College of Surgeons says the band is the

safest type of weight loss surgery. Look in this forum for 'Lap Band Success stories', it might change your mind.

are you still in the hospital, if so let them know

if you are home, take the meds they have given you

I had a hard time breathing for the first few days. Did the they give you the breathing "toy". Use that to expand your lungs believe me, it helps. If you are lying down try to walk a little bit and then sit in a chair for a while with some pillows behind you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
