Banded a week, lost 19 pounds since preop til now

I've been told don't worry about weight loss because you're healing. When do I focus on the weight loss? That's my whole motivation:(

You should focus on weight loss, eating habits NOW.

Just don't get totally freaked out if the weight doesn't come off as much as you may hope. That will get easier as time goes on.

It can be hard and frustrating in the beginning, but trust me. It does get better, and easier.

Have faith.

My surgeon was a WLS instructor and he said the healing phase of the band

surgery is the most important part and failure to heal properly is the single, most

common cause of failure after diet. If you follow your doctor and nutritionist's

instructions, your weight will come off. Don't forget how long it took to put it on.

You really need to have a little patience and it'll happen.

Corrigan, how long did your surgeon say it takes until you are completely healed? Just curious. I'm two weeks banded today. Doing mushies. See the nutritionist next week.
