Howdy everyone!

The weight is finally "falling off" for me, so I guess I'm in the "green zone" and if I can just remember to not START eating till I'm hungry, I should be good for a while!

I had a major NSV yesterday. I scuba dive, and last time I went was in January. I had to hire a men's XL wetsuit and wear a L vest...

So DH and I went diving yesterday, and I tried on and rented a M/L - I thought it was a men's size, but it was actually a WOMEN'S M/L. WOAH!!! It was sooooo tight, but there was no way I was going to swap it for a larger size once I got it on!!! :D Oh, and the vest was an M!

Hey there... I have been away from some time. I am back to give an update. I had a fill and I am now at 4CC. I am thinking I should have had a little more, but I did not know what to feel or what to do.. The doctor kept asking me if I felt it go through when I would drink that Water and I told him I was not too sure.. cause really I did not "feel" anything. lol Oh well.. so I am at 4CC. I am now down to a size 16W jeans!! I was in a size 22 to 24. lol That is about it right now. :)

Well....I am pretty sure it has been a month since I was last here. I went for fill four yesterday. I thought fill three was pretty bad. Well fill four has me TIGHT!! I wll truely have to do the liquid, mush and slow solids. I have lost another 4 pounds but better than that I am in a size 16 jeans. So my NSV is more exciting. Hoping and praying all are doing well and have a very Merry Christmas!!

I gained a bit over Thanksgiving, but got it off. I finally broke 340 and got down to 336 at one point, but around 339 today. I've had 4 fills of 8.5 cc. I can tell food has slowed going down but I can still eat too much at a sitting. Haven't got stuck yet. Think I'm close though to getting to sweet spot. Dr didn't tell me to come in again. He thought this would be it.

Hi everyone!

Weight loss has been extremely slow and I have been somewhat dissapointed. I have an appointment next week for another fill and I think my band is close to the ideal adjustment. Lately I've been getting that uncomfortable feeling in my chest several times before the food gets stuck. I think it's because I have a bad habit of eating too fast, especially if I am really hungry. I've noticed that I cant eat soft breads or rolls anymore. These types of foods really cause a blockage.

So far I've lost a little over 30 lbs. I will have to wait and see what the doctors scale says because it's always a lot less than mine at home. Im still waiting to move down into smaller clothes.

Wishing you all the happiest of holidays!

Healthywoman here! I made it to 180 today-losing a full 30 pounds now!! So far no PB's or getting stuck. I go in for my next fill Dec 13 and will probably only get .5cc's. My doc reduces the amount over time. I feel healthy, no Hair loss, no more reflux. I will see my PCP for blood work to check my Vitamin and mineral levels in two weeks. Hope you are all doing well.

Congratulations! Great job. Sounds like you are on the road to a really healthy recovery. I'm stuck at 192 but if I can get through the holidays without gaining I will count it as a plus.

Merry Christmas!

GG

That's fantastic about the wet suit. I know you were thrilled. Congratulations on that NSV. When we were getting certified many years ago they had to put so many weights on me when I wore a wet suit or I could not go down unless they did. All my fluff and then the wet suit made me float like a bar of ivory soap! LOL

Merry Christmas!

Since my fill I have realized that I must slow down when eating! I have had these episodes of having food come back up and mild pressure in the chest area.Haven't really lost much of everything since fill 12/12, however I am struggling with food portion and choices lately. It seems since Thanksgiving I just can't get back on the groove I had prior. Happy Holidays Everyone!

I think I am doing the same thing, eating too fast. I get that feeling too. Not stuck but I can definately feel restriction. I cancelled my appointment last week for a fill because If I got any more I think it would be too much. Got to slow down and no more bread. I had a PB again this morning, my 3rd. It was soft bread. I think I might be too tight in the mornings so I might have to have some hot tea or something. I too was hoping to have more weight off by the end of the year but I am happy. I'll work harder after the holidays with more exercising and all these tempting foods will be gone next week.

Merry Christmas!

What you said, yes to all of the above. OK, after Christmas we all need to make a pact to get back on the program and exercise and use our bands and get that weight off. Agreed?

Blessings,

Congrats Caryn on success at school. I also made it through finals in nursing. I have to say it has been extremely stressful for the last month. School was harsh, I had fears of losing my job, and some other family problems but I have made it to the other side. I did get to go to New Orleans for a weekend and gained back all of the weight I had lost the few weeks before hand. I am now back to losing it again. I went yesterday for another fill and I am up to 7cc in a 10cc band. I have some major restriction going on. My fellow banded friend says she thinks I am swollen from the fill and it should get better in a day or two. This morning I was down to 204 and I am very excited about that. Onderland is in my sites and I will be there by the new year. When I first got the band I thought that 2011 was going to be my year but now I have realized that most of the benefits are going to be in 2012. Come on 2012!!!!!!!!

2012 is going to be our year. Congrats on finishing finals. Now maybe you can relax during the holidays. Onderland is in sight for you and we will all be skinny in the new year .

Merry Christmas!

I would appreciate your prayers for me for tomorrow. I am having a nuclear stress test. When they did the routine EKG on me for the lap band they saw an irregularity on it. They then did an electrocardiogram and saw something else. I had breast cancer in 1989 at age 39 and it seems the drug they gave me for chemotherapy might have damaged my heart. Great huh? Take this drug to save your life from cancer but it might give you heart damage. 12% of patients that get that drug have damage in their left ventricle. That is the main pumping chamber of your heart. So, tomorrow they are doing the stress test to see how much damage I might have. I don't have a lot of the symptoms (except weight gain and I'm not sure that's why I gained) that people with severe damage have so please pray there is no damage or minimal damage. I'll post when I know more.

Blessings,

GG

Yep, in January, I had to wear 10 3-pound weights. On the weekend, I only had to wear 8 of them. I guess my next goal is to only need 6, which is what my husband wears!!!

I'll be thinking of you for your nuclear stress tests :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
