  1. Hi Lisa! I am about the same time out until my surgery. I will be getting a revision surgery from the lap band to the RNY bypass. Sounds like you are off to a good start and already losing weight! I am trying to do WW right now, but the weight is barely moving. I would be happy to be your weight loss friend during this journey. I just bought a helpful book on Amazon called “The Big Book on Gastric Bypass” By Alex Brecher. Have you started your classes yet?
  2. Thanks for sharing your story and pictures. You have inspired us all!
  3. What is the liquid capacity a band can hold?? 10cc's? I now have 3 cc's and I go back in 4 weeks. If I am losing weight I dont know if my doctor will give me a fill. He thinks all is good if the weight is coming off!
  4. Hi Jojo, I just had my first fill on Monday afternoon. He told me liquids for the remainder of the day, then on Tuesday I could go back to regular food. Also, he said that I now have 3 cc's of Fluid in the band. Apparently on surgery day he added some fluid. I am not sure I was given on Monday but I did ask and he told me what I currently have. Have you noticed a difference with the fill? I definately notice a difference. I am so excited! Good luck!
  5. Since I did self pay I was able to have surgery within 3 weeks of my first visit with the surgeon. I was told that self-pay patients go to the front of the line. My doc required me to see the dietician once and the psychologist once. Good luck!
  6. Bodychek, Good luck tomorrow! I expected surgery to be a big ordeal and it wasnt anything to worry over. I was home 2 hours later. Tomorrow is the first day of making your life better! I didnt have to do a pre-op diet either. My doc did have me cut down 3 days before surgery with one meal and 2 meals protein drink. Your doctor knows whats best for you. Just know that you will be sore and you need to use the meds they give you for the first couple of days. Wishing you the best!
  7. My surgery was last Tuesday, the 16th. What about you? Have you had an adjustment yet?
  8. Hi Bailey, You and I have the same doctor!
  9. give it time, you may have to get weighed at the doctors then go home to compare. I have and old version of the Health o Meter and liked it. Good luck!
  10. Thats good to hear because I was leaning towards the WW scale, but after hearing about your inconsistancies now I may stay away from that one. My mother in law had the WW scale from costco and I liked it. I will let you know if I find a good one. Thanks!
  11. I am looking to buy a new scale. There are so many nice ones that I'm not sure which one to get. The Weight Watchers and The Biggest Loser scales looks good. I like the large digital read. Does anyone have a good recommendation for me? I just had the band put in yesterday and I want to keep good track of my weight loss. I dont want to spend too much. I would like to pay less than $50.
  12. My surgery is tomorrow morning and I am getting really nervous. After reading over your posts it has reminded me that this is the best thing for me and I will be so happy in the end. I am worried about pain but I know I can get through it.
  13. good luck on Thursday! Let us know how it goes!
  14. Thats good to hear. I had heard that 5 days was okay if you are going back to a desk job, but being a teacher and never getting to sit down I was worried if I will be able to handle it. I'm sure it will be fine. Thanks for your input!
