Hello August Banders or just fellow Banders!

I'm Cara! I was banded August 11, 2011

Starting weight 23. I have two amazing children, my daughter is 3 and my son will be ONE on the 9/1.

I'm feeling better today, had a good nights sleep and I DO need to take the pain meds. It pouring here in NY and was going to take my daughter to the movies to try and get out. Im feeling daring...we'll see.

So far: no gas pains, I definitly have to keep getting up every few hours to walk, I do my laps, yesterday went for a walk with my daughter and have been taking the tylenol with codine and took the sleeping pill last night. It's weird caue I dont even like to take advil but I will take my meds they prescribed me as long as I feel I dont need them....which will hopefully be soon.

Good to see other Aug Banders or A11's as you have dubbed us Caryn LOL Hope you are feeling well, we had the surgery the same date. Do you live in Australia or just had the surgey there?? Best of Luck on our journey!!

Hey all. My name is Jamie. I'm 36 , happily divorced, and was banded august 11th. My band was "installed" using micro surgery which was cool. I only have one incision in my belly button and some tiny freckle size punctures. I'm doing well aside from the shoulder pain which goes away with a heating pad or walking. My surgury was on a Wednesday and I went to work for half a day Friday. So far Friday was my worst "pain day". Again it was all left shoulder pain. I am feeling great this morning - very hopeful and excited about this journey. I know it won't be easy but this forum has been so great!

Hi!!! I am Mary Jo. I am 53. Have two children, age 31 and 26. Husband - SKINNY always. Started at 319, by time of surgery was 270. Surgery was Mon Aug 8th. Not alot of weight loss since, maybe 5-6 lbs and I am sure it is a lot of that Water weight. Still doing shakes only with some Jello and broth and can do yogurt. I can't have anything more solid until 9/22 apparently. I see others are actually able to have soft foods etc. I am not sure if I feel the band or not. I don't have any real issues but if I drink too fast or even sneak a bite of something when the fam isn't looking (Daughter and BF live with us) I feel a "heaviness" mid-belly which for a person of size probably is the lapband area, right? Surgeon feels it is my "trigger". I do not have a fill. That won't be for three more weeks until I am healed. Just keep the convo going. It is nice to know I am not alone. I live in Lakeland, FL and will go back to work tomorrow. Glad I took a whole week off just to chill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
